This is what a 40 watt CO2 laser kit looks like.

Some knowledge of welding glass together is needed plus an ability to assemble a 3D puzzle :(

That packaging looks like it came as a used tube. The minimum for shipping laser tubes is a very heavy cardboard box with shock spacers at strategic points and secured, shaped, shock spacers at the mirrors to prevent longitudinal movement or a similar set up in a light wood framed container. Cardboard boxes generally have a thick slab of heavy cardboard in the box to prevent bending of the box.

Will you reveal who you purchased that tube from?

About the 3D-Puzzle: Try "soldering" the glass shards together with an ultra-high-powered pulsed Laser - that way it'd be extremely cool!

In other words, that sucks. Pretty bad.

I bought this tube from Zonestealth on ebay. It arrived with the box you see inside an 8" PVC Pipe shipping tube !!! Out do that !

I emailed Kenny a picture of the product and within an hour he replied that he'd reship another. I've asked him to add more stuffing to both containers but the tube is (was) about 40" long -- a monster.

I will show my mailman the results of good handeling :(

It is a sorry sight, an expensive laser tube in shards like that!

Your mailmain probably can't do very much about it... its just the way cargo is handeled. On that note, i know a guy who saw his backbpack drop down from the cargo door of 747 straight onto the tarmac - he was waiting for the flight at the gate.

If they do that in plain sight with the customer watching, you can only imagine what they do to other cargo ;)

HORAY !!! :D ;D :)

Kenny at Zonestealth reshipped my new tube but didn't tell me because he was busy with a new child !! Wow - talk about packaging !!!!

It arrived today in one piece ;D Now I have to find time to fire it up.
If you have never done glass work for a laser, this is a piece of art.

Kenny has lots of laser stuff including goggles but if you aren't comfortable with 22,000 volts, be careful.

HOct --

I hope you were able to understand what I told you. Sometimes, It is hard to convey over the phone concepts about electronics which to me are second nature.
Glad to hear you understood me ;D
