Hi guys,

I want to purchase a handheld portable 473 nm laser pointer, less than $300 and preferably >10 mW. So, what is the cheapest 473 nm pointer around?

I looked at CNI, but the prices were too high for my budget (the cheapest was $500).

And if I want to make a 473 nm DIY, I need all the ingredients (pulse compressor, crystal, BRF, etc) which turn out to be more expensive than a premade pointer, and the wavelength tuning needs some expertise.

So, if anyone knows of any 473 nm laser pointers in that price range, I would really appreciate if you let me know.

Cheers,

Roam

PM Scopeguy20, I bought from him a Very Good CNI 473nm 5mW (peaked at 12mW) pointer at 300$ shipped if I remember.

Thank you very much for all the feedback guys. Both Lazerer and Dragon Lasers have the same price. The only difference seems to be that Dragon Lasers offers a higher power, right?

And which site is more reputable to purchase from?

Dragonlasers has always given me excellent support and superior shipping, a lot better then Lazerer. But that is because Lazerer only has one employee it seems, while DragonLasers has a lot.

Dragonlasers lasers are from CNI, so you'll be getting high quality.

Thank you for your input. I guess the Dragon Lasers one would be the most decent 473 nm I could get with my budget.

I also found this 589 nm in their website: Aurora Series 3mW Yellow Laser Pointer :: Yellow Laser Pointer ------- 589nm Laser ----- Aurora Series Lasers :: Handheld Lasers :: Dragon Lasers

Is it by any chance the best 589 nm around ~$300?

For around ~$300 yes that's a very good price. If you're willing to pay double that (shipping included) you can probably net yourself a ~60mW 589nm (labeled ">30mW", thats my next buy!) from CNI directly.
