A CD player diode outputs a useless amount of power ;D (1-5mW of IR)

Reader diodes are pretty much useless when it comes to power. For a powerful IR diode, you would need a fast CD writer.
If you want an IR diode, i have a few i don't need, so i can send you one with the rest, when i'm done with your other laser. What would you like to do with it anyway?
