Given the info you posted I am 100% sure that you've been scammed. The laser will more likely be < 100mW.
If you want some real info you'll have to post a link to the laser, where did you buy it and from what company. Also, if you're saying "near UV" then that's 405nm for which you'll need safety goggles (as you already stated).
You can find these by searching for 405nm safety goggles. I don't know of any brands for that wavelength though.

There is now way you could get an 8000mw "near UV" - 405nm/violet/purple laser. I haven't yet seen one reach 3000mw.

it might not be near uv, but when reflected on white papers etc, certain colors seem to fluoriscend...
no it does not blast hole in the wall, but from a quite good distance, it makes burnmarks on wood, and most materials seem get toast...

Due to varying camera settings and individual differences in perception, we won't be able to tell accurately what wavelength the laser is based on the picture.
Can you get a photo of the stocker on the laser or perhaps a link?

You will need a Laser power meter or LPM to know its actual power.

8000mW input power maybe. Output is likely to be 1W or less with that battery configuration.

I agree, looks like just a 445nm 1W'ish
plastkort we are limited to the information you give us. If you can like previously stated post a link of where you bought it or post a few pictures of the laser itself we might be able to give you less vague answers.

Give us a few more pics and where you got it from... How long can you run it before it gets hot? Your taking pics like this with no glasses, shame on you. My 2W would toast my eyes if I shot at the ceiling and took pics of it while doing this with no shades on

bought it for about $100 in pantip IT center of thailand, it really feels powerful. it even burns easlily on wood:

Wow I see what the label says... The dot does not look like it is a line shape. Maybe there are more than one Diode in there

Sorry bro but if it was anywhere near what the label states the wood would likely catch on fire and the laser would burn its batteries in less than 5 minutes and would burn itself out in probably around 30 seconds, maybe less. It looks to me like it is about 1W based on the burn and the washout on your camera and the price.
Also, not to be rude but, there is no way that has multiple diodes in it.
As for the wavelength/color, the beam is a standard 445nm blue. A near UV laser would be a 405nm which is significantly darker purple and hard to see.

Saw one just like it at the Bangkok MBK shopping center ( 4th floor ) near massage shop. It appears to be tha same thing, but they claim it is 1.5 watts. I tried burning a few things and it seems of equal power. They where asking 2500 bahts (83$) for it. I think I could bargain it down to 2000 or 1800. I will be there the day after tomorrow and see If I can still get one.
Last time I was there, I bought two red laser pointers that are labelled 800mw. But after chatting with the guys here, i thing it is more in the 200 mw range. It burns holes also, but only in dark material (less reflective). It has a very bright dot even in full daylight.
The problem I saw with the blue one is that the beam was fairly wide. So it does not seem very bright after one hundred feet. There was no ajustable focus.
