I don't call $100.00 US a pop CHEAP !!! And can you imagine the LINE to get in for those diodes ? No mention of power levels either...dangit. Well - itsa step in the right direction - if a diode that small could be incorporated into a pointer, it SHOULD send prices plumetting on hte blue pointers - not the current DPSS ones, but bare diode NEW pointers - that is where the future wil be !

The future of blue pointers perhaps. I'd still like to see the prices on blue DPSS drop though for lasershow use. Those diodes won't be of much use for pro lasershow people unfortunately.
Now we just need to wait on a green diode though and a portable RGB pointer may be possible. That would be awesome.

I believe they are 440nm which is a very true blue - moreso than 473nm DPSS actually.
