5mW Blue Laser Pointer, 460nm Blue Laser | Berlinlasers

I got one of these because I was happy with their 5-30mw 515nm pointer, and I thought a real sky blue 5mw pointer would be pretty nice to have. Unfortunately this thing is NOT 460nm. Side by side it looks EXACTLY like my 450nm pointer.

I guess this is just a heads up. This product is mislabeled. Don't buy expecting a 462/465nm pointer. It's 450nm.

That is unfortunate. You should complain and ask to return it!

I really am tempted believe me. I already have a nice <5mw 450nm pointer and had no desire to get another one.

That's disappointing. Doubt they would have issue with a return, but it may not be worth it given how much it is to ship with tracking.

Edit: There are some member with a spectrometer, maybe with verifiable results they would be willing to cover return shipping. Otherwise they could respond that the difference is not so apparent visually.

Well this laser does actually have a redeeming factor. I metered this laser and it's actually 75-80mw average. I didn't have any blue pointers in the >20mw power range so this thing is a little more acceptable to me now. I also wonder if it does have a 462nm diode and it's simply shifted down in the spectrum because it's being underdriven. I've seen how the NUBM07E will change it's output spectrum depending on how it's driven.

Pretty weird stuff with this laser actually. Initially it seemed like <5mw, but after fooling around with it for around 5 minutes it randomly got MUCH brighter. Went from <5mw to 75+mw randomly while I was using it and actually gave me a little scare because I was casually pointing it around in the house. Now it's a 75mw+ pointer. It didn't come with any instructions so IDK if I switched modes on it or what the heck is going on. It also seems brighter blue than before, but that might just be the power increase. In any event this thing was definitely mislabeled as <5mw and potentially mislabeled as 460nm. I don't have any way to verify the wavelength though without a spectrometer or w/e they are called.

I've never heard of the seller but the pen looks like a laserbtb and at least probably feels like a well made unit. How well can you see the beam?

The beam is quite visible as it's a ~75-80mw 450nm. It's also a well made unit.

$109 for a falsely advertised product, really at 450nm? Ouch... You deserve that back, especially since it seems like you paid for the wavelength specifially. I'd negotiate with them for RMA, if worse comes to worse open a dispute with paypal... I'm curious, where are they located?

China. Idk why they're called berlinlasers. Shipping it back would probably cost like $40+ with tracking. I could ship cheaper untracked, but then they might just claim it never showed up.

Razako,

Have you simply just filed a chargeback for "mislabeled product"? Even if you decide to keep the laser, in my opinion you should still get your funds back for something which isn't what is was sold at. Kinda frustrating some companies do this! If you have no clue what your selling, then don't start making false claims. :yh:

That is a huge possibility, yeah I've seen how the Nubm07e does go as high as 470 at higher drive rates. Anyways very interesting Chinese slash germanese laser. Lol
