I need some help with a Laser project.

This laser have to be from 810 to 980 nm with a 3 to 5 W.

Also i want to know if this can be driven on a Fiber optic.

What i need? I have seen on ebay some fiber coupled lasers, but, i dont know the driver that i have to buy, and what more to make a continuous current on this device.

an example of that i have seen:
3W 808nm Fiber Coupled Laser Semiconductor Diode Fiber Coupled Laser Engrave | eBay

Thank You in Advance.

You're asking for help on your laser project, but you told us nothing about your laser project?

Its a project for Doctoral graduation, i want to build a Diode laser from 3 to 5 W not mW.
from that range. 810 - 980

The objective of this its to show, how overpriced are surgical lasers from many industries, and the efectiveness of a handdrived over cross optical fiber diode laser for tissue grafting, bone surgery, coagulation/exeresis , etc etc.

I dont have 35.000 usd to buy one, so i want to probe that i can do one, and i can do the tests i need. and im not electrical engineer, and i can find someone with enought time in the campus to help me out with this.

They're going to give you a doctorate for buying a laser diode so you can say "see, it's cheap"? I guess I don't understand.

You dont get the point Cyparagon,

The objective of this its to show, how overpriced are surgical lasers from many industries, and the efectiveness of a handdrived over cross optical fiber diode laser for tissue grafting, bone surgery, coagulation/exeresis , etc etc.

etc etc, time of coagulation, healing process, time of healing, uses and limitations, differences on each kind of laser, we have avalable co2, erbium, alexandrina. Availability to be manufactured at lower prices than 35000 usd.
Type of tissues, irradiations,

you want to give you all the medical details or are you going to help me?
by the way im paying my doctorate , so dont worry, im not taking Taxmoney from the contributors or something like that. if it doesnt allow you to sleep.

Don't get defensive. I'm just trying to understand. We can't help you unless we understand your goals. Are you trying to build a laser diode? Are you trying to fiber couple a laser diode you already have? Are you trying to find a seller of laser diodes?

I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure IR is very poor at coagulation, especially at those low power levels.

Yes i would like to make a fibercoupled IR laser.

I know where to buy Diode laser of 3W and 5W.
the thing its, where to get a driver that gets me a constant wavelenght, have to be from 810 to 980 nm,
also i need a swith to be programmed to get continuos wave and fractionals by 30ms shots.
focus diameter of 320.

about cutting tissue and coagulate, all diode surgical lasers in the market works between 1W to 7W.
Its for microsurgical, little depth in the tissues.

just to mention an example, 3W its far enought to cut muccous tissue, or make a tooth bleach, above 7W can cut bone.

I found this,

980nm 3W Fiber Coupled Laser Semiconductor Diode Fiber Coupledl Aser w H PSU | eBay

but i dont have more specifications, also need switches, i dont know the driver specs, but maybe its something like that how its going to look.

thank you in advance for the help.

Drivers like that do not exist. You would have to build your own. That would make this project >90% outside of your specialization.

3W is not enough to cut tissue if it is near IR. Near IR is not absorbed by the body. I've put my hand in the beam of a 40W IR diode, and only felt a slight warmth. I do not think near IR is what you're after.

Well, I don't know how to break this to you. But those devices are quackery. Far IR will ablate tissue. Near IR will not. Neither will it break down fat cells, treat canker sores, or whiten teeth.

I believe this is where you throw a fit and where we part ways. If you valued your education, you would look further into it. Either way, I will not be visiting this thread again. Good day, sir.
