Although this auction doesn't appear to be very trustworthy to me (for many reasons), someone here may be interested in it.

I can't visit google video at work so I don't know what happens in the video he links to.

Well, judging from his low feedback, and uncertain origins of that pointer, I would HIGHLY recommend staying away, unless you have disposable income that you do not mind losing ! I am very wary of Ebay scammers - good posting, though, it will help to keep an eye on that guy, see how he acts, and such....

Hmm, I just checked his transaction history. His only feedback is for purchasing a silver leadlight from vital*spirit. It seems pretty likley he just removed the crystal set form it. I don't know if that is a bad thing, just might not be well focused?

There is also a handheld 808nm 1000mW (1W) "laser" on eBay.

This one is equally suspicious, although it could be translation problems.

I asked if it was a laser or a flashlight, he said it was a "laser flashlight", the beam diameter is ~2mm, and that its CW.

Well, others have purchsed from Zonestealth before, and they are all talk, and crappy products....they sold a 250mw red module that BARELY tested in at 113mw (or close to that, I forget exactly) so they sell crrrrrrrrap !

The zonestealth auction states an operating current of 550mA. I'm not sure if its a laser or what, but an 808nm laser diode at that current would likely be emitting in the 300-450mW range tops.

Well, that guy also had previously sold his red laser modules as DPSS modules....so I really have very little faith that he actually knows what it is he is selling....

hahaha... ZoneStealth is the place you go to shop when you want to donate your money and get a token of good faith in return. Well... not really donate as much as, perhaps, burn? :-? LOL ;D

Ya... steer clear of him and his products...

That leadlight is really a leadlight... if anyone is interested I could probably sell one of my leadlights without the MCA... LOL ;)

J/K OBVIOUSLY! ::)

I built one like this today in an old greenie. Used an Aixiz module and I'm getting 246 mW of 808 but it's almost impossible to focus. My camera blooms too much. Also, I dont think the Aixiz glass lens system is working too good at this frequency.
How many mW does the IR diode in a 20x DVD put out ? I just harvested two diodes from an LG-GSA-H55L today -- Another open face red !!!

aixiz sells 808nm focusable diode housing with glass lenses for a little over $50. should solve your problem, as the lense on the regular 5mw housings are not for 808nm. i've no idea on the ir from a 20x dvd though
