I don't which I like better, the blue and the copper or the green and the copper. Both look really good. I know, get both, that way you don't have to decide. Impeccable logic. :D

Hi BM,
I just figured that the closest colors for the WL of hosts, and being that these are awesome diodes well copper is the way to go. Cant wait to fire up the 480 with the holes in the focus adapter. I just have to set the X Boost driver..

How did I know there would be a partner to the 505 build?
I'm afraid how good the beam might look, I might be tempted to buy something under 5 watts.

Hi RC,
I just hoping that the 480 WL looks as good as the 505 when fired up . A SM in a 5.6mm package is great try to get it done by tonight.

Well couldn't wait to build this 480nm and fire it up. The blue beam is really great ,it looks better if you were there . Might be going for a new camera i don't know undecided .
anyway here are some pics enjoy. Oh the X Boost is set to 280mA /G2 lens..

Wow those side holes on the focus knob look cool:eg:
It needs a name:anyone: or we can name them as a pair;)
Rich, on a side note i'm seeing the diode not pressed completely in, is the body to thick?

Hi GSS,
I have noticed on a few builds i did the 12mm modules from Jordan were not consistent , in diameter or the seating of the diode. i press them with enough pressure no gorilla tactics . Some seat well and some don't ,The earlier modules i had no issues with but these some how were different. I use a small vice to press them in and i give them a good crank . If you look closer you will see the marks from the diode press being that i administered enough force . As for the focus knob i put a twist on it . glad you like it buddy.
I can see if it were a 44 that was harvested with some remnants of solder ,but these diodes are brand new not to seat correctly .

WOW, I just had to repost your image, very nice copper work, not easy to work with as you know it's grabby stuff on cutting tools. Love those air holes.

Hi RC,
Thanks for the favor looks awesome buddy , Yes CU is a real pain in the you know what.. Sucks up heat fast even with cooling fluids and oil. Basically the turning speed helps if you work with it a while. I Really enjoy making these EDC's for single modes , even though they don't produce much heat i really like the look of highly polished CU. nothing like it. Certain AL shines up great to it depends the choice and the metallurgy composition. But lets talk about C360 brass well after finishing it shines like gold yummy !!
thank you again for resizing the photo wow impressive pal,

Rich:)

A name? How about " The Twins "
:)

Dizygotic not Monozygotic, twins. :D

Ps, ( had to look up the difference, not that smart). :tinfoil:

Two very nice builds, Rich. How do you like the color of that blue diode? It's even better when next to a 445nm or a 450nm diode. The green I got from you was 502nm at 200 mA IIRC. It has a bit of blue tinge to the green, especially when compared to a 532nm laser. I imagine that won't be for sale very long, if they aren't sold already. Very aesthetic builds. :D
+ rep.

Hi Paul,
Surprisingly the 480 is really blue up close i love the WL set at 280mA. compared to a 445 and a 450 no comparison at all true blue. And my 505 is more teal awesome not to green at all . remember my camera is good but not top of the line but it suits me fine. I might put them up for sale just need to figure a fair price and not gouge the customer. Folks work hard for their money. Some of my builds take about 6+ hours to make I'm very fussy .Thank you for the feed back pal awesome reply. Thanks for the REP to nice.

Hi Cynical,
Sorry buddy couldn't wait to see the WL in real life, You will definitely enjoy yours when your done.

@BB,
your also going to like these diodes and they are in a 5.6mm package to. I ran mine low at 505/275mA and 480/280mA. I know they can take more just won't beat them up.

Rich:)
