447nm: What do you all think?

With my next labby being a 447nm one I wanted to ask the forum what the majority of you think of it? I've seen 405nm & 473nm, but never 447nm(though I do have a mouse that has a diode which emits blue light which looks similar to 447nm)

I've heard there tends to be a purple haze around the room when a 447nm is shone, which is weird to me! Anyhow, how is the color? Is it something pleasing to you guys? I doubt 447nm could compare with a 473nm, but let's see :)

~445nm is nice - quite a deep blue. I sometimes have a little bit of a hard time focusing on it though, similar to the deep blue LEDs. That might just be me.

Personally I prefer 457nm, but 447 is also nice. It'll be nice having something lower power with a nicer beam! :D

I have not seen 447nm but I have used 473nm from 10mW to around 60mW and 445nm from 5mW to 3800mW a lot. They are 2 different animals.
473nm is like tropical waters, a very pleasing light aqua color IMHO.
445nm is a much deeper or royal blue.
Many cameras seem to wash out to purple(405nm) when taking pictures around strong beams of 445nm.
I myself have never seen 445nm with a Jimmy around it or the room - purple haze :D

445nm seems to have some violet in it, 450nm doesn't, I have one right here next to me, I just turned it on to double check, no violet, it's blue, not a big difference but it's a visible difference. 447nm I don't know, I will be interested to know if it looks a little violet colored or is pure blue. Your lab laser might be more stable, these diodes we use can shift WL some.

Hopefully! Yeah, I think they can either go +/- 10nm :)

445-447 is really pretty, it looks deep blue, but once you set a 473 next to it all of a sudden your brain will see it as purple.

Our brains are so much involved in our perception.

It's kinda like a 100mw 532 HH, it looks great, you can really enjoy it, but set a 1w next to it and all of a sudden it looks weak, washed out/watered down where just before it was an amazing beautiful emerald green rod.

It's just perception.

So what I am saying is it can be enjoyable, but it's best if you enjoy it solo.

I still enjoy 405nm, I think it is very pretty, and 660nm red is a much prettier red than 638, even though it's not as bright it's not as orange, 660 is a really nice red, I am going to rebuild my red bundle with a dozen of the LPC-836, and the beam quality is excellent.

I suppose my log winded answer could be condensed into variety is the spice of life. :)

Awesome! Looking forward to it :)
