445 laser with custom built driver prototype Mark I

here is a picture of my 445 laser setup. i DID have jib driver but i thought it was broken so i sent it back to him for him to check. but i couldnt wait so i built a new driver its a TS317 based voltage regulator. driver running of 2x duracell 123's and 2x AA altogether = 9v. i have 20x 100ohm resistor, 1x 51ohm, 2x 8.2ohm, 1x 1.8ohm and 1x 2.1ohm resistors in parallel setup thus giving me 0.66ohms, if my math is correct this should be giving me 2000mA's

oh and yes....the heatsink does look like the arc reactor core from iron man! :beer:

hmm have ran it for abot 10mins constant no isssues, but my math might be wrong. it may not be 2A. but the batterirs just died lol :D. i have a demonstration in school tomorrow with this. i guess il have to use the power packs in school.

well not really. but my technological studies teacher told me to bring it in for a demo. and i showed my physics teacher and he was very impressed on how it can slice white paper in half :D they did say dont show anyone else :p

probably not. im only experimenting. im gonna use the jib driver when it arrives anyways, so i wont be using 2A constant :)
