Put a ir filter in front of it when u lpm test, so you can see how much red it leaks.

ya know, I'm no big fan of IR. But if I can get this laser and adequate glasses for <$100 overall...
might look into it.

I've found this to be one of the most boring lasers I've owned.

IMO - It's worth the $70 or so in terms of quality, but not in actual enjoyment. It's really not terribly interesting to own.

It's what I expected- no regrets or complaints. I've just noticed the surge of people interested in IR, and I wanted to toss in the opinion that it's really not much of a thrill ;)

I was thinking of getting an IR laser...
but then I decided that it was pointless.

I have one that is 5000 mw i special ordered from Laser Pen shop. I ordered the glasses with it. They are great. One way to view the laser is to look only through you phone camera or another cheap video camera. the light shows as a pink or Rosetta colour. Mine will burn deep grooves into laminated surfaces or light a candle or light a small light bulb filament

As far as use...
If the IR source was diffuse, and at a level that was not damaging to anyone’s eyes, it could be mounted on a hat. The purpose would be to try to wash out any facial recognizing cameras like “Facedeals.”
