You'll have some fun with that, if you get it. I got a Coherent 808nm 50w diode last year. Mine is about 1 1/4 high, 2 wide,
7" long, so they are fairly big. It weighs a few pounds too. Don't even think of running it without the water cooling attached, it
would overheat internally before the case even warmed up. I used a rewound microwave oven transformer, a 75 a bridge
rectifier, and filter capacitor with discharge resistor, all run off a variac to power my diode brick. Of course, laser goggles are an absolute must at this level of power. Buy your goggles before buying the diode ... These things bring burning to a new level ...
I also have a 20w 808nm fiber optic setup. IR is fascinating, but be careful. Stuff can catch on fire across the room...

ya i wish i could get this but theres no way my wife would let me spend $1000 on anything let alone a laser.... but it would be nice. i was just pointing it out for other people who have that kind of cash and want to play with a real high power laser.

Yeah the beam quality sucks from those, but with another cyl lens and an anamorhic prism you can build it into darth mauls lightsaber, the 200A pwr requirement is a bummer though, in the pics it's running at about 60A
