C6 was originally an LED flashlight running at
350mA or something small like that? Heat
needs a place to go. Can't mount the round
X-Boost in such a way that the IC contacts
the pill

I think most of the issue is heat sinking the driver - it becomes much harder with the round driver compared to the rectangular one

Ok, I got to thinking the difference between the SXB drivers (version ?) and the X-boost round is some of the clarity of version numbers for the ones that you can mount directly to a heatsink on the bottom and the ones that have the + in the middle on the bottom should be clearly marked on this thread to help when ordering.

Of course I would have looked on the bottom even meter it for a short to see what was proper, but man I had to remember which build I had these in thinking I might have sinked a positive VI to a grounded pill.

If you can't get a hold of Jeff try Lazeerer PpM him he's the one who makes them. Or DTR has them on his website

Hi BBB,
Try Angelos ( Lazeerer ) he makes them and he responds faster. FP is always busy doing something Jeff likes his fireworks out in the desert. Angelos will set a driver to what range if it's an adjustable or a straight setting. I get all my drivers from him but i order quite a few at one time to have them on hand. so make a list of different drivers you want to have them when you need it for future builds.

Hello, I ordered x-boost v7 from DTR and there is two missing capacitor. SS (I think this is the ramp up / Slow Start) and another one near range selector resistors.
I killed two 16x diode and now I run it at only 400mA to get reliable life!
