I need help with a guidesman project, basically what i have is 2 of RHD's modules and a guidesman. one w/ leads from the diode, one w/ out. if anyone is willing to help ( im guessing make a few soldering points, and maybe fix it to fit the driver) then i could sent you a 125mw red laser :)
:thanks:

So you are trading a 125mW 650nm laser for some soldering? Why not buy a soldering iron, and keep the laser :p

Or why not ask me? :)

That said, I don't think you need any soldering points added to the Guidesman host to accommodate the Mosquito module. I believe you have the "Loose Head" version. This means that you should be able to attach the driver (+) to the guidesman clicky button tab. Put the diode module in your heatsink, tuck the driver away in the pill (which you may have to "pluck" some plastic out of to make room) and fire it up with 2x lithium ion cells.

For anyone else that helps out with this, here's what he has:

445, in an Aixiz, with two leads (+/-) going back to the driver. The case pin is bridged at the diode to the (-) feed, and the driver is continuous. The driver will get (-) from the case without any extra work. The driver should just need a (+) lead attached, presuming the guidesmans still pass the battery (-) through their walls into the heatsink and the module. It has been a while since I've used a guidesman, but I'm pretty sure they do.

The Guidesman does pass the negative through the battery well and onto the heatsink. As far as batteries go, he will probably need to use two 16340's and a battery sleeve.

To make the sleeve, you can just use a cardboard paper towel roll, cut it down and wrap it around the batteries.

If he has one of the Mosquito combos with the driver attached to the diode and battery spring, it is almost a perrfect fit though, I believe that cutting the spring down a tad is all that is required.

If memory serves, he has the version with the diode and driver separated by leads.

If the guidesmen are still substantially the same as they were when I used to play with them, then they've got a little plastic "pill" that you can use needle nosed pliers to pluck some of the reinforcement out of. One you do, you get a nice little pocket that you should be able to tuck the Mosquito's driver into.
