Wtb red handheld

Hello everybody.
I'm considering buying the o-like 250mw red or a frankenspliced unit done by rhd (unless he unloaded already). Before I do though I would like to see if anyone in the community has a comparable or better DIY or store bought unit that they would like to part with.
So, with that said, post your offers here or PM me your offers or suggestions.

@leodahsan- thanks for the suggestion, but I haven't tried my hand at building yet. Also I should have mentioned in my OP my price range is $100 or under. However, if I come accross something particularly appealing I may go higher.

NP. for <$100 you should get something from Rayfoss or O-like then, it is your best option :beer: Rayfoss just have the 200mW ones (rated 250 peak, 230 average)...

Helios is making super kits with a nice spot on the HS for a cheap driver- buy a 815 sled and DIY- aixiz red glass lens $5 from me.

np Len. I know Jetlasers is one of the best manufacturers, I didn't know you are doing a GB! If some more newbies come thru I'll refer you and Jetlasers (both the site and LPF handle name)... for quality lasers :beer:

BTW.. $185???? WTF I THOUGHT THEY WERE >300... Dude.. If I got the money I'd be getting it.. It surely will be overspec.. Seriously.. the 500mW 635nm should be visible as 3W of 660nm! :drool:

According to chroma:
600mW (overspec from JL) 635nm (88.9348lm luminous flux) = ~2W of 660nm (83.326lm luminous flux). :drool:

oh this is getting big lol..
lower wavelengths have a 'higher' rayleigh scattering, so the beam of 600mW 635nm could seem like.. 2.5W of 660nm (if my memory serves me well)...

Thanks guys. I was planning on getting the 600mw 532nm from Jet, if available. Maybe I'll tone it down a bit and get a red with it. Not sure though.

regina Brazil got one of those -- see her review-- I hope you order one as I will ge to play fot it ne night before re-shipping it to you. I have seen a 1 watter thatDr Chuck owner of AixiZ has but he did not allw me to handle it for more than a few minutes.

IRRC It was a dazzeler prototype that was made for the military about the size of a maglite.

Hoping the final box fromJETL GB #3 will go out next week- as soon as it does I will place a new thread for GB #4.

I think by then they will be offering a PL-C in 473-488 nm. ? DPSS?

Gray tells me that the final shipment of PL-Cs and two Ti lasers is almost ready.
Once in the wind the box usually takes 6 or 7 days then I re-ship.

Once that is over I will start a new GB JETL thread. New reviews will go up on the JETL 405s aand 445. Maybe JETL will have a 473nm to offer(cough cough arythna)

they are working on a third beam expander--10X...they are sending me a 3X and 5X
to test and review(lucky me!!!!)


In order to avoid any delays in GB#4 I am asking that only in-stock lasers be offered this time.

In his eagerness to please Gray allowed us to order the 800/405s even tho they were not quite ready. Both Gray and myself are very sorry it did not happen like we hoped it would. However Gray will be doing something to make all happy and so am I.
All those getting PL-Cs will get a free 18650 battery from me included in thier package. And of course a charger, the glasses, and cool glass diffraction grating.

here is what i did w/ the JETLASERS grating last nite when we had a lot of fog roll in. And some smoke from my chiminea. The huge FS mirror came free from a discarded RPTV.
