I'm looking to buy a 635nm or a 650nm red laser at around 100-300mW. If anyone has one and wants some extra cash, leave a message!

Need to complete my collection of high powered lasers!

Thanks.

This one does not appear as if you can adjust the focus. Do you find that a problem?

It is focusable. If you read description from the link, you'd have known.
But even if it wasn't, I'd be still happy enough with it...

The two, 635nm, and 650nm, vary in price quite a bit. What is your budget?

There is not much chance of you finding a 635 for 100$ or less. The lower power diode alone is 40$ plus 20$ for driver and what not, around another $40 for a host and heat-sink, there's your 100$ you still need batteries, a lens, and most builders like to make a little profit as well.

Blords build quality is top notch, I would definitely take him up on the 650 if I were you. I almost bought that last one and I already have an equal powered 650, it just looked so nice in the red 501b host. Plus you get an awesome run time with that lower powered diode and big heatsink in that host, you really cant beat it.

Good luck with your search either way!

The 635nm lasers come in two flavour : low power single mode diode or the high power multimode. Any perference ?

left: 206mW Mitsubishi 300mW diode, multimode
middle: 210mW Opnext 170mW diode, single mode
right: 60mW Sanyo 40mW diode, single mode

Yep I wasn't so sure I could get one hand built for that cheap. I'll go with the 650 if I need to. There are websites like lazerer that sell them for that cheap, but I prefer to have a pro like blord make one, since he has such good rep building for people here.

Higher power isn't always better. You see the comparison ? The highpower laser has a bar shaped dot. It is almost a line laser.

Good point there. I would prefer the middle one. How much would that cost?
