The red LED from the projectors... Theres gotta be a bunch floating around out there. Looks like something fun to play with/put in a flashlight. How much do they go for?

Heres the host I plan on putting it in,

6-3/4" 109 LED Flashlight

Plenty of room for a big heatsink. Its built pretty solidly, I've used it in some other projects (non-laser). I don't plan on running it at full current, maybe pulsed at >100 Hz with a low duty cycle.

You do know the PHAT can draw up to 8 amps I hope you don't plan on using the "AA" cells to power the PHAT led, I don't think they can do that at least not for more than a few seconds

Definitely not, I can fit a couple big lithiums in that host with minimal mods.

A big HS will still IMO not be enough- The 'item' these come from has a HS , a very powerful mini fan on the Phlat plus 3 more on the case AND a TEC. (not active cooling---VERY active cooling)Your host should be a lantern not a flashlight and replace the 6volt battery with 9 18650s.--lol

I was thinking that a pair of these would make car brake lights the would discourage ANY tailgater!!!! ---j?k
