thanks for the input guys but im in the uk and i was preferably looking for someone to sell me one, cheap ebay ones are in hong kong so too long to wait, places like maplin in the uk have outrageous prices like £4 around 6.50$ for one motor and shipping is £3

@flaminpyro, thanks for the answer but i cant call them... it would cost a fortune over here :(

Hey Stuart,

If you give me a day or two I can probably dig one out for you if that helps?

If you've got any obselete mobile phones lying around then they have ideal tiny motors. I used this sort to build a tiny spiro, (see link from my first spiro build a while back: http://laserpointerforums.com/f47/2-mirror-spiro-cute-box-32642.html )

IIRC I only have the one lying around so you may want to hunt for your own but if you get stuck, let me know.

I'll look around in my box of electronics and see what I can dig up for you, but I can't necessarily look until the weekend, I'm afraid.

sorry everyone i feel such a fool i was typing in the wrong thing in ebay... i was searching up 'pager motors' instead of 'dc motors' i found the proper name of it whilst searching through rs components.

i got 4 motors for £2.50 excluding postage (£1.79)

these: 2x New Miniature DC Electric Motor 1.5 to 4.5V 13000rpm on eBay (end time 02-May-10 19:43:59 BST)

also would these potentiometers be okay?
NEW: 5 x Miniature Potentiometer 10K Linear on eBay (end time 10-Apr-10 22:01:21 BST)

going to bed now its 3:30am :tired:

thanks,
stuart
