EDIT: I need another diode if anyone has one for sale.

I am looking for an Osram 450nm PL-450 diode. I have been advised these are discontinued and have been replaced with the PL-450B. The data sheets are different and it appears the lasing threshold is lower on the PL-450. If you have one for sale and are 100% sure it is the older version let me know. I'd entertain both new/used options from trusted members of the forums.

Thanks,
Ben

Ugh I should have been more patient. It prolly wouldn't have taken so long for shipping from you. I jumped the gun as soon as they replied that it was the old version. I got it for 26.00 no shipping, but it won't be here until next month prolly. Ships from China.

Meh, I doubt shipping from CHI-CAN is any much quicker than CHI-USA.

Well in a fit of stupidity I stayed up until 4:50am and was attempting to complete a new host project for this diode... I made the dumbest mistake ever because I was getting impatient and it was late and I was far too tired. I killed it. 8.4V directly to the diode will do that. My stomach still hurts from that. I wasn't trying to build a burning laser, but I just burnt a hole in my pocket.

TL:DL - I messed Up, Anyone else have another PL-450 they wanna sell?

I bought one from LaserLands ebay last time, I just don't like how the body and description say two different things. I'd really rather not spend 65.00 for a 5mw diode.

Is that the only difference between a PL450 and PL450B, the power output level? Can't you just turn the current down on the PL450B to make it lower output power?

The threshold output power for the PL-450B is too high for his use, but the PL-450's threshold isn't.
