WTB: LPM with *calibrated* Thermal Sensor - DONE!

Hi2all  :)

Yep, I'm in it for the long run, so an LPM's going to be a must have

I am looking for a used LPM with Thermal Sensor (Thermopile, etc.), in mint condition that is either relatively new or has been recalibrated.

My defintion of "recalibrated" is
  • You recently sent your [LaserBee] to Jerry to have it upgraded / "tuned"
  • You are truly Hardcore material and happen to own a Coherent, Newport or other industrial-level LPM that you calibrated your other LPM to
  • You sent your LPM to a Harcore member (that I know of) and they recalibrated your LPM for you
Please note that I am in Vienna, Austria (EU) but this shouldn't scare anyone off. Daguin recently shipped my matched set of Dorcy Jrs. insured & registered for $30 U.S. So name your price excluding shipping and then we'll deal with the shipping costs.

I'm going used because even relatively affordable new LPMs (yes, the LaserBee I comes to mind) become unaffordable when I consider import duties and local VAT (add up to 16% duties and then hit that subtotal with 20% VAT). So I need someone who's willing to work with flexible shipping instructions...  ;)

EDIT: A Data-logging feature is a plus  :p

Thx2all in advance  :D

I don't know whether Austria is different from Germany in that respect, but here it is very rare that a private person has to pay any duties or taxes. Have the LPM declared as a "digital thermometer" with a value of let's say 30$, and you shouldn't have a customs problem.

I'm surprised to hear that DE is so "relaxed" but no, not in Austria. Come to think of it, not even in SI (just read some of  Igor's posts on the joy of dealing with the Ljubljana Customs office...  ::))

If you purchase something from a company that cannot / will not alter the content's description or price, you will pay both Customs and Taxes. I've bought enough products from U.S vendors to know the odds are against you (in AT, anyways). Not everyone is as ah, as flexible as DX* & Co...

*Seems that everything I buy from DX costs exactly 45 HKD :p

I am also from Austria and I must say that Traveller is right!
They let many envelopes pass but if it is a parcel , esp. shipped with an Express mail service , you must pay to 95%!

Sad but True :-(

Re: WTB: Used LPM with *calibrated* Thermal Sensor

In case you're interested... to ship a LaserBee I + Thermopile from
Canada to Austria with Insurance costs.. (from the Canada Post Website)

Xpresspost International (5 business days) (more like 10-14 days)

Base Price   $54.88
Delivery confirmation Included
Fuel surcharge          $5.08
Coverage     $2.40
Total    $62.36

And that does not include Packaging materials, Handling, and trip/gas to the Post Office. :'(

BTW... there is a distributor of the the LaserBee I + Thermopile in Germany...
That may be cheaper on shipping... you can see it here...

Maybe easier on shipping, but not worthwhile nevertheless. For the Laserbee I: 274Euros (including shipping) = 339 US-$ =417 Can-$.

Well you could get a Kenometer for $300. The laserbee is less expensive and just as accurate.

Nah it's been my experience if you use the "flat rate box" regardless of price that most customs see the duties as already paid by the shipper.  I sent a package to netherlands.  Ordinarily they end up spending an additional $45 in taxes and such but when it got there, he didn't have to pay a penny. but I am ok with shipping it to him without insurance but buyer beware of any damage. I won't take responsibility with no insurance.

Where do you get 274Euros... :-? :-? :-? :-? Did you pull that number out of your butt... :-?
It doesn't give you any credibility to post non-truths....

The standard LaserBee I + Thermopile shipped Internationally Is $276.98US... and as all the
other more knowledgeable members here who have bought one know... I always try to
make them a better deal...

Click on the link in my Sig... to see the prices...
