WTB: HeNe 1-2mW PSU! (Bought, thread done)

Well I just won http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220248110151 so now I need a power supply to run it. I did find one for $35 buy it now +11.50 shipping or $9.99 if no one bids on it for the next six days. So if someone has one that is about $35-$40 for sale that would be wonderful. I have an altered computer supply that I can power it with so I have 6VDC and 12VDC connections to power it. If someone has an AC full unit too that would be great if you can offer me a good price. If no one has one or knows of somewhere to get one at a good price let me know.

P.S. I already know you can build your own but that will be the next step.

Rhith ! Good to see you around more often now Check out the link I posted in the deals section for the keyed power supply for the HeNe's...I am sure you can adapt that to your uses ! The one thing to remember, is that you need a resistor of some sort (cannot recall exactly) between the tube and the power supply, or POP goes the HeNe !

**the enclosed tubes already incorporate that resistor...BALLAST RESISTOR ! There it is ! WOO ! Okay, anyways, the Ballast Resistor is already installed in the enclosed tubes....

This will do it. You will need a 12V power source to drive it, but they are cheap (you may already have one).

That's the one I was actually looking at. Do you guys think it would be worth paying for the buy it now price? I don't want to miss out on it....

And SenKat, what type of resistor setup would you need? Help!

Ah and it looks like that PSU has one on it already. But making sense of those wires is confusing.

I have some power supplies that will work, 5V in 1.8KV out should be good for tubes up to 9 inches of arc length. $35 delivered or bid in my ebay auction. Pin out is supplied, need only 5V yes a resistor is included.

RHITH - buy this one ! I don't know enough about the needed resistors - I got rid of all my bare tube units, and spare power supplies...I think that last one I had was from one of Heruursciences' grab bags he sells Chris will treat you right for certain !

Plus that - you sold me my very first HeNe ! You had the power supply wired up to an HP Printer brick - very solid work
