As you might have seen, I have a DIY 445 for sale here that *might* be malfunctioning. The beam is strobing. It might be the laser, it might be the battery, or it might be the charger! Anyone in the United States willing to sell me a charged, quality 18650 so I can find out what the heck is going on? :D Thanks!

Do you have any high wattage resistors? Or anything else you can think of that might pull a lot of current at 3v?

I recommend a high wattage resistor or some sort of incandescent flashlight bulb. Then you can wire up a quick circuit and see what kind of current the battery is pushing.

If the battery is reading 4.1 its pretty safe to say its not the charger.

My multimeter only goes to 200ma. I checked the voltage on the charger itself and it reads 4.19v. Is this normal? When I put the battery (4.1v) in it it reads 4.12v.

I have one battery, 2800mAh, which for no reason I can see, causes my 445 to strobe. all my other batteries work fine with it, and this battery also works fine with other lasers. The voltage on it is fine too. Im not sure why, but sounds like you just have a battery that doesnt agree with 445 like i have. It seems to be linked to higher capacity batteries, since all my other batteries that work fine with it have lower capacites.

Interesting. And I thought my laser was broken. By the way, it just finished charging and came out at 4.16v. It worked in the laser for 10 seconds before the strobing started. I have some red/black TrustFires on the way.
