Hi!
does anyone have an extra laserboy correction amp from dr.lava?
i would buy it from dr.lava but he wont have more in stock till February.
i know some people might suggest to build my own with the parts but i have been told it costs more than the original and i just dont have to time to go to electronic stores buying the supplies. and apparently its extremely hard to build.
so if anyone has an extra correction amp and wouldnt mind selling me one, i would really really appreciate it.

thanks! =]

I might be wrong, but I thought I heard that each specific sound card/computer's USB port might vary the signal a bit, and thus you should tweak your correction AMP to a specific configuration (such as, mainly use it on the same USB port most times), however I don't know if that's necessarily needed; but, if it is, you might have to tweak it on an oscilloscope anyway.

Also, I made my own and it works well, and I thought I'd just say, I don't think it's too too hard to build, but it definitely can be a little time consuming of a project. Just soldering all the components alone takes some time, and also as a heads up, my kit used SMD capacitors instead or regular (idk if he's switching back to regular or not), and so I'm just warning that it was fine for me, but may be a little difficult for some.

thanks for the suggestion. i would build it myself if it wasnt so time consuming. finals are coming up soon and im gonna be studying a lot so i wnt have any time. and im sure ill get confused while soldering all of the connections.
im still going to keep trying to find someone who wouldnt mind selling me one they dnt use or just wait till february =/

ive got one thats already hooked up to a usb sound card and has been tuned already. you might have to tweak it but most of the tuning on it was already done.

How much for that? I may be interested in purchasing it if you've already got it tuned.

I already have the same thing but it doesn't work correctly :(

if kendell does purchase it and ill have to build one, do you think that itll cost more to get the components then to actually order the correction amp or will it cost the same just be more time consuming.

thanks

buying all the parts yourself is much cheaper. Originally everyone that makes their own scanner was buying all the parts, Dr Lava just made a little PCB with a few holes in it to make it a little easier. the circuit is very simple though.

really? because i was told by someone who has actually done it says its a whole lot harder and that it costs a bit more? and i dont think i really have the time to be putting together this correction amp because im goin to a kid cudi music video audition next week and gotta put together an entire dance routine.

ill get back to you guys with a price in a little while. i had laser_ben tune it originally and elektro freak double checked the tuning for me. you might have to make some small adjustments but its already tuned for the most part. my scanner project is on hold b/c i dont have the money to work on it right now. if i find a job before feb i might start back working on it... :(

i think 75$ +5$ for priority shipping in the us would be a fair price for this since its already set up and tuned. if your in another country let me know and ill give you some prices for shipping. will include the usb sound card, correction amp and a usb cable
