Did anyone else catch that? Light a match under water?

I think he meant that it is able to light the water :D

Edit: Serious, there are matches around which are able to light under water, I know the "Relags Hurricane Matches" and you can waterproof them if you do them into wax before you lit them. But normal matches? NEVER

 If you want to burn through thread somewhat quickly, 100mW may be a letdown. It's going to take you a looong time. Buy a laser that uses a 445nm diode if you want to burn anything but electrical tape at a decent rate without shelling out $300+.

The O-Like 200mW would be more than enough.

Watch the video, and you'll see violet has much more burning power per mW compared to any other wavelength.

Wicked Lasers usually isn't too bad with shipping times, but their business has increased tenfold with the release of the Arctic. There are so many people ordering that they cannot keep up with the demand. The Arctic came out over 5 weeks ago, and they still haven't shipped out a single one. :tired: If I were you, I wouldn't order one until they actually ship all of the ones that were already bought over a month ago...

And again, I'm sure you've had this pounded into your skull plenty of times since you've been on these forums, but this is no toy lightsaber. 5mW is enough to cause permanent damage at a quarter second exposure, so if 1/200th of that 1000mW beam hits your eyes, there's going to be eye damage.

wait, can a 445 NM laser come in 2 colors, which has more burning power?

445nm is a color. That 445nm wavelength is received and interpreted by our eyes as a deep blue color.

405nm 445nm 473nm 532nm 589nm 635nm 660nm 808+nm (invisible infrared)
