I'm looking to purchase at least one diode binned for high wavelength, 455nm minimum. The higher the better.

That's pretty much it, very basic wanted thread :)

The 9mm diodes and the PLTB450 have a higher wl than the rest of 445nm , I've probably seen 452nm reported somewhere on the forums, 455+ might be a little stretch.

455 is quite common, relatively speaking. RHD used to sell binned diode kits. I also know of at least one, if not 2 458nm diodes.

I only wish Angelos replied to PMs ....

O'Yes, Now that I remember rhd did had some of the binned high wl diodes. The power to wl trend was inversely related to each other iirc. Anyways good luck.

I can confirm 455nm isn't that rare. My Dominator "measured" 454nm on a "wall spectroscope". Of course that isn't precise but the color is still noticeably different to my older SL C6 laser - even to "non laser people".

Just chiming in because I'd also be interested in binned diodes. DTR could probably make quite a few extra bucks by selling them at a premium (say an extra 10% for each 5nm off), and he'd find a lot because he sells a lot ;) The only investment would be the spectrometer and a quick test apparatus.

Here's the challenge with wavelength binning 445s -

To bin their highest wavelength, you need to run them at max current. You can't just run them at threshold current and take a reading. That means you need to press the diodes into modules, put the modules in heatsink, and run them as high as you're comfortable running them. That's not a deal killer, but it does mean that someone who sells a lot of bare diodes can't just wavelength bin everything.
