WTB bare(or sled) REDs 5.6mm >240mW ($15) [found]

I just ran out of my supply of 20x diodes, so I'm looking for replacements. (latest died after at least 20 hours by way of shining in a reflective surface.)

I haven't been in the scene for a few years, and I find out the age of $15 Long open cans is long gone. Wat are the popular replacements? I can't find any threads here and in shops I see some reds but these are all around or way beyond $40, or are 3.8mm which I cannot mount.

I wouldn't mind 635mn, but rather have 658 because they are 'deeper' red
I'm looking for 240mW but wouldn't mind 1 or 2 W (as long as the price scales, so at most ~$0.08/mW)

If noone can do that, I'll have to go back to buying and gutting DVD burners. But I thought getting sleds over drives was cheaper here (at least it was, in 2008).

You can get LPC826 diodes they cost around 10$ and safely go up to 300mw at 660nm


BUT 0.08$ per mw max you said Thenbuy a 5W rated FACed C-mount from Lazeerer:eg: (400$/5000mw=0.08$per mw

I found a 300mw 650nm for 21$ from DTR. I have purchased a few things from him and I have had no problems. He is a very respected member on the forums. Best of luck, and we hope to see you active once again.

My got-to red diodes are LPC-826's from Cajunlasers. I'd recommend you get these.
They're open can 5.6mm 660nm diodes easily capable of 300mw (I run mine high at 510mA), and only cost $11!

I thought that sounded familiar, so I looked up the LOC, and it's lpc-815
Sorry, can't mount C-mount in aixiz and I want to keep my laser pen.

That's the site I found, and that red is 3.8mm. His 5.6mm start at $40.

get them at canjun lasers, $11 each and they are 5.6mm
