Most blue lasers sell for around $140. http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/1-2-watt-copper-445nm-blue-lasers-cheap-139-99-a-63859.html 500mW and 1 watt will generally cost the same since the same diode is used in both and the only aspect that differs is the driver's set current.
