Did you know that you can now get one at like 300mW-500mW for just over $100? Or are you looking specifically for 50mW?

Do you want a multimode diode like the 300-500mW Mitsubishi diodes or the single mode 40mW Sanyo diode ?

I am interested in a weaker diode so 50-80mw is what I want. Not a burning laser just a cool pointer with a visible beam.

You say you want a visible beam but you won't get that with 405nm at 50-80mW. The 635nm will be faintly visible at that power and so will the 445nm. Your best bet for a visible beam AND 50-80mW would be a green laser. If you are want a 50-80mW violet for $100 I can do that for you but the beam is not going to be visible. All the other wavelengths will be more than $100 (except for green but that you're better off ordering from a Chinese website)

I remember having a 5mw 635nm with a slightly visible beam if I looked right down the pointer. I just want it to be slightly visible at night or in weather conditions. I don't want a 100+mw laser because of safety hazards, but I would still be interested in a 445nm around 50-70 mw.
