I have a good friend who is heavily into professional photography and showed him my laser collection today. he instantly fell in love and wants to get one of his own so i told him id help him get one. He is looking for a 532nm and doesnt want anything too powerful. It is going to be used for outdoor night photography so the beam needs to be plenty visible (50-100mW was what i suggested).

I want something with a low IR output since he is new to lasers and want to limit the danger for him (i am buying him a few pair of glasses so dont worry). I am half debating building him a532nm module in C6 host but figured if anyone has one here then it would save me some time of waiting on parts.

Let me know what you guys have and ill see if its something he'd be interested in. He wants to spend under $100 and i let him know that was no problem for what he is looking at. I think under $50 is possible, especially if i build it so post away.

Id be paying for it so PP or MO is no problem and ill just get reimbursed by him :D

If nothing pops up in the next week or so then ill just build one myself

Thanks
Livinloud

EDIT: flashlight host is preferred and i dont need links to chinese laser sellers (i know all about them and dont want to use them if i can help it). member built lasers are what im looking for or else i will build it myself.

Does he want it to be in a flashlight type of host or a laser pen type?

Sorry forgot to mention that. He likes the flashlight style and likea my C6 but doesn't have to be a C6. If I end up building it, itll be a C6 since I have a few of those but were going to be for other builds.

if i wanted to buy a pre-built laser from a chinese seller then i would have done so already. plus i wouldnt buy from o-like nor pick that laser from lazerer. also with chinese sellers i wouldnt know the IR output until i received it and then quality is another question.....no offense

purpose of posting here was to see if anyone had one THEY built, that they wanted to sell. plenty of people bought the 50mW modules from fasttech and built lasers out of them so figured if someone had one for sale it'd save me a bunch of time waiting on parts.

if no one has anything then im going to build him one. once you can build lasers, you will rarely buy from a chinese seller again, not worth it.

I have one I might be willing to part with. You can check it out through my builds thread in my signature. It is in an Aurora SH032 SS host and I upgraded the module to one that averages between 100mW and 125mW. I need to get a IR pass filter before I know IR output though.

its not hard to build a 532nm laser if you buy a module with the driver already attached. its a simple as dropping it in a host and then by-passing the click switch to retain the function of the flashlight switch or if dropped into a pen the switch on the driver can be used..........am i right guys or am i overlooking something?

NP, i know your intentions were good

well if thats the case i may start looking to have someone build me a decent green laser and get a decent quality laser and just pay for the parts, and a little earned profit for the builder of course. know anyone who can build a 300-400mw greenie?

there lays the problem......getting your hands on a high powered module is tough and expensive.

in my case i want around 100mW or lower since he just wants it for the beam and photography/astronomy at times

Gun I was debating thia since it would be FDA approved.

Why would I want to get my friend a 500mW 532nm laser?

Livinloud, that is true...you could get a 100-150mW Pen laser for ~80 bucks.

id rather not get a pen host for him though. if i was going to try for a pen host then id buy 5 or 6 of them off fleabay and with the luck people have had on those, id get one around 100mW

my other thought was sell him my 105mW 532nm but i really like that laser since it has such a nice beam and is flawless.
