does any one can build one or has one in stock? I also wonder if these lasers work like visible wavelengths I mean. Are they focusable and able to burn from a few feet? thanks

So I have a question... Why do you want a 2W IR handheld?
These are readily available for a fairly small price. You cannot guarantee that they will get up to 2W in power however.
You will definitly need laser safety goggles for an IR laser as it is almost entirely invisible. Try these
As for focusing, that would be difficult without some kind of night vision camera setup. And yes it will burn things, but you would need to be able to focus it.
Be careful with IR lasers, whether you are a novice or an expert you should always excercise caution, you only get 2 eyes.
Lase
Yeah i know these are specially dangerous since are barely visible. Thanks for the advice. I hope some one around has one willing to sell
Because I want a nearly invisible and powerful laser. Its like asking you why you have so many lasers? I just want it for fun and i know how dangerous lasers can be if theyre improperly handled
Why?
I'm not trying to get on your case, I'm just trying to understand why someone would want such a laser?
The reason I have so many is that I enjoy collecting them, the different hosts, the slightly different wavelengths, the difference optics, etc, etc....
What is there to enjoy in a laser that produces a dot about as visible as 5mW of 650nm and so much more dangerous:thinking: They aren't really good for burning either... for that you'd be better off with a 445nm, or a co2 setup.
