Built or unbuilt, looking for one of these diodes sold by Lazerer last year. Let me know if you have one you want to get rid of. Also, I am in the market for anything uncommon or rare. Let me know what you have.
Thanks,
Jeff

I think he means Lazerer sold out of that particular diode so he would like any of his buyers that would like to sell one to contact him.

Correct, he sold them all as far as I can tell. I was hoping one of those lucky individuals either got bored with it, decided not to use it, or wanted to turn a small profit. I have a particular application I think it would work well in. Power over beam quality is what I think I am after. I could be wrong and just using one of the current 500-800mw (pushed not rated) may do what I want even better. I am planning a mixed beam for an AR15 upper in a magenta color. Since the beam profile is so crappy in the 500mw Mitsu I figured mixing it with such a nice 405 single mode profile wouldn't work as well as mixing a multimode 405 with a similar beam profile.

Just to let people in on the project, I have a close friend who recently received his class 7 FFL to manufacture firearms. He really loves my laser hobby and we came up with the idea to build a true AR15 upper laser gun as an advertising gimmick for gun shows and product conventions. I had originally proposed doing a high power 445 by combining two 9mm 3+ watt beams. After doing a little reading he decided he would rather have a unique color and the idea of mixing a 638 with 405 was settled recently. This upper will never become some sort of publically offered product, just a neat advertising gimmick to showcase his work and have his brand stand out. I have all the necessary components to put this together now and soon he will machine the sled for the PBS and laser modules that will be housed inside the upper. I've been trying to convince him to build me a handheld housing for a combined beam rig but haven't been able to get him that interested yet. If I ever do I will try to get him to machine several so I could offer some here for those interested.....I diverge, sorry....

So, anyways, if you've got one of these and are willing to let it go for an interesting project please let me know.

Thanks,

IIRC they were not 1W rated. They were pushed and TEC'd to get 1W+

These 405's were single mode diodes. As far as I know, nobody on the forum has a multimode 405...

So you want to mix a single mode and multimode diode? It wont be pretty :p

Ok, I finally found that old ebay ad for these things, took me forever to find it again. Very elusive little diode! The primary listing for these were over at PL. They are not rated at 1w but easily made 1w or more. They were definitely multimode too. Here is the original ebay ad:
405nm 1000mW 1W 1 Watt Laser Diode Module with 405 G2 Lens Opnext HL40023MG | eBay

Now that I've had time to review this diode again I realize it's really not going to do much more for me than a really good SM 405 with good eff. I happen to have a "off the bell curve" SO6J x12 that will pull right at 900mw on a good day with a G2, I will probably just use it. Still, if you have one of these I am still interested in possibly buying it.

Let me know!

Yes that was the multmode 405nm.

But we thought you meant the single mode 3.8 mm 405nm lazeerer tested:

I've heard the ones listed on feebay turned out to be crap. Dunno if it was lazereer supporting his own diodes or not, but I'll take his word for it.

I dunno if he still has his 3.8mm tank diodes or not. I would bet money he does. He has everything ._.

Though why not combine two single mode diodes for this proejct? You'll get a much more usable beam shape...
