Hey all. I'm looking for a laser in the 1000mw or greater range. Blue or violet. No kits unless they are already put together. Email me if you have one, so I can check out the thread with pictures as I don't get on here all that often. Paypal only so we can both be protected. Email: Buckshotfacelift@gmail.com. The email goes to my phone and I'll get to it quick unless I'm at work. In that case it might take a day to get. New or used doesn't matter as long as they are in great working order. I'm an adult and I make a living with my eyes, so don't worry about selling to an irresponsible kid that will ruin anything.

Do you have appropriate Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses...

Not yet, but they will be purchased too. Can't go blind ya know. I was holding out as sometimes I've seen the goggles offered in conjunction with a laser, and I don't want to buy the wrong ones.

atm 1W of 405nm (violet) may not be found or if it were expect a huge pricetag IIRC.
445nm blue however is readily available and hand made ones are the lowest price.

Some china companies offer cheap 1W 445s but I suggest you avoid them. I do GBs for JETLASER - and they make some of the finest and offer warranty and great after-the-sale support.

One Good kit selller is mohenburg and see dtr for a diode- but there is way more to know about doing this w/o problems than I can tell you here. like pin out of the diode and ESD.... have you looked around BS&T and the Pro shop?? Always better to deal with a vet here at LPF than a stranger.

hope this helps

Gary or Garoq here on LPF sells the best Laser Goggles that I have ever used. They block most all blue laser light while still allowing you to see a nice white dot.

Link to the goggles is here...

The Eagle pair are nice, but they are not what could be called the "best"... for that you kind of need certified.

whats your budget?

For the right laser no limit, but I can't pay more than fair market. I would like a most-bang-for-the-buck deal. A pre-assembled kit would be nice. I've done a kit before, but I trashed two diodes in the process, so I'd rather not deal with the hassle of a diy. My phr803t has been out of commission for over a year.

Ideally 1000mw+ (up to 2000) would be ideal, new or used doesn't matter it just has to work well. And be blue.

Oh Ok..

The pair I got from Gary do say CE on them..

I have researched other Laser goggles that state online that they are (certified) and sure enough, they too say CE.

A 1-1.2ish W blue can be had for just over $100 these days. 405's have reached 1W with a 12x diode but that is certainly not a safe current for these diodes. The most you can expect with a standard lens running at the max safe current is around 600-700 mW. 445s are up for sale all the time in the BS&T section. I'd certainly buy one here before I went to China, most good sellers here ship very fast.

If you're willing to trust the self certification of a chinese company... great, and good luck to you;)

Btw, it's not so much the CE as the EN207 information you need to pay attention to.

Thanks for the info.

I'm no expert in Laser safety glasses, but these don't allow any light through them, unlike my Wicked Laser Safety Glasses did.

I can fully recommend your lazeerer builts, they are one of the best out there. He only uses the best material, is quick at replying and provide a great service eve after the purchase. The lasers I linked are sold, but take a look. I´m sure he is going to build you a personal laser, the same/or similar, just you tell him what you want:

Those look nice. I'd prefer something polished. The less it resembles a flashlight the better too.

The best thing about flashlight hosts is that even the smallest of them has a larger head so fitting in a nice heatsink adds to the efficiency of the design, you dont want a flashlight host then you have to buy a custom one and make one for yourself..
Also there are JAD kits available for ~$40
And the diode with module and leads is ~$70
you can easily get 1.5 out of a m140 diode anyday,
Keep checking the B/S/T section something will come-up as per your liking, you just have to keep an eye out..
