Using a phr diode, flex drive and pen style host that runs on AA's for about $80 shipped.

It would be set to 125ma's giving about 100-120mw's of power.

Ive been toying with this idea for awhile and i wanted see if anyone would buy them if i started making them.

I'd be interested if you could put it in a CNI style black and gold pen

If i could get ahold of some cni pen hosts i would be glad to. Does anyone know where i can get them from?

Also would you guys rather pay $80 and have to use 14500 batteries or pay a little more like $90 and use double A's

I would probably say AAs are better. They are cheaper, both rechargeabley and non-rechargeabley. If it's like $95 or more though rather than $80, I'd say $80 w/ 14500s

The price increase would depend on the host, if it was a pen-style, I'd opt for the flexdriver, otherwise the rkcstr is fine

I think he'd use a pen host either way. You can use a rkctr for a pen host, that's why he's asking. He's either gonna use flex or rkcstr (i'm guessing).

Thats right the rkcster is half the price of the flex but you need 2 3v rechargeables for it. So thats why im asking

When do you plan to start this if you do?

Are you just recreating the Pocket Mini Build at a more affordable price?

I will have the first one built by the end of this week probably. I will probably sell that one if its up to my standards.

No this wont be like a pocket mini build, because i would sell these lasers fully assembled. No one is selling any nice assembled blu-ray pens so i thought i would be the first. Also yes im trying to make these affordable as possible, i would like to sell them for $80 but it might go up to $90 depending on the part i use.

Actually, plenty of people sell nice blu-ray pens... companies, and many members here (I don't know if I should use their names in your thread). But, $90 is a fair price, and I'm sure you might sell a few.
