Default Re: White light RGB pointer

It's already known there as I have been a member for a couple of years. Here is an answer to some questions that were asked recently........
OK here goes......If you live stateside we can get a shipment going easy. The battery pack is made up of six, 3 volt lithium cells. Part of the pack is parralel and part of it in series. It has a 2400maH capacity as is. The charger is a constant current/constant voltage type circuit. It runs from a 12 volt wall wart, but could be made to also work with a power port of a vehicle. This cell was chosen for size constraints and power available. I am having a very hard time locating a power cell arrangement for the smaller unit. Also a few optical problems. It is doable but a ways off from here. The concept has been proven .
The divergence is very near 1.8Mrad. The beam waist is largest on the 405nm diode and has a wide emitter strip. The 635nm is next smaller, and the green yag set being the tightest.
As for a warranty.....wel I am not a manufacturer per say, only one who builds laser projectors for a hobby. I always have a soft spot for something different though. That is why it exists. I can only warrant it against DOA as long as the unit does not get destroyed in route to the new owner. The beams are combined with optical components that I have cut down in size and refaceted to work in this laser setup. They can be removed, but with much care. If the beams were just next to each other, the spot would have a focal point at one distance from the apeture. This however is not the case with true combination. I have built a few RGB projectors and have used a vast array of optics to combine...trichroics,dichro's,and PBS with the appropraite coatings, and even tried a few prism arrangements. If it is dissassembled......wel that is ... you have a bunch of nice parts. They could be salvaged for another project of course....higher power diodes and the like. It wouldn't take a laserist much funds or time to rebuild the head with higher output diodes and return it to service with say 100mW white light on the same platform.
Hope this helps as the laser will hopefully sell soon at $250 w/charger.....buyer pays shipping costs.

I want to continue with this project. I know it can be made much smaller. It is a problem sometimes getting on the same page with Chinese manu's. Still working on it..........It can be made better, smaller, and more powerfull. This was a prototype to prove that it could be done. I just need to throw more $ in it. *BTW if a laser is properly polarised and set up correctly, there will be a minmal loss of photons providing the coatings are correct for the chosen wavelengths. On PL there were a couple interested because of it being something different....most are intor projectors......me ...I like most all lasers.

Lol- Friend- I didnt know you are a member here, I just pm'd you over @ PhotonLexicon regarding this amazing number! I love this thing and would love to get my hands on it - I hope that whoever ends up with it for themselves will keep it intact and not cannibalize it just because of its significance. You- Sir- Did an amazing job

Kudos 8-)

Well to all that were happy to see such an item....it has been sold. I friend of mine now owns it and will be put to good use on a project of his. He will probably have pix after he is finished. I know he will take care of it. Now after some encouraging calls to go out this evening. May have to build more in the furure. I have most of the parts on hand. I still would like to see if someone else could beat me to a smaller laser like this. My projected housing is 1"diameter and 10" in length. All three drivers will be on one board saving much needed space. I am still looking for the best power cells to feed this thing. Details....well some of them to come soon.
As for the doubting .... it is the real deal. You will see what you have missed out on. I think it is a true milestone. May it set the stage for more of this type work.

Bluephoton, congratulation on your sale. Now bring it on the smaller and brighter version... Can't wait...
