Watch for scammers!

Hello everyone! I would love to be able to trust people and deal with honest folks, but, I have been approached by several cons about buying my lasers, I just thought some folks should know these alarms:
Offer to buy is accompanied with payment in a check or cashiers check, which is from a foreign bank, or a well known US bank, could actually post in your account, later be bogus, and be retracted from your account by your bank. At first, even your bank may think it's GOOD!
One scam is to say they will wire money to your bank account, but I would give no one that much personal information! These could be identity thieves!
One contact told me he would overpay by >$100 and have me send the extra money to his associate in Nigeria = obvious scam!
If anyone knows a safe way to get International payments please advise me!
It is very good advice as SenKat wrote "If they are unwilling to use a third party as a middleman in the trade, or sale - be wary. Almost any of the senior folks on here would be more than happy to assist - just ask."

generally most people that are genuine will use paypal or google checkout but still... if it seems to good to be true..( it is)

Indeed. I was recently approached by someone (we'll leave them annonymous) to buy a premade laser. well, the person was from europe and did not have the means to pay by credit card so inquired about paying me by bank transfer. Having seen scams and things like that in the past I indicated that no other means of payment would be acceptable other than paypal or google checkout. It took him a little time but the gentleman did take the time to comply with my wishes and pay with paypal. So if they are legitemate they will take the time to purchase from you by the means you ask.
