I would really like to buy a 2w or above laser pointer. I have an arctic spyder and i want a 2w laser, for more power!!!

Thanks,

sydney swartz

you can get 2w IR from lazerer for $169.99, but i guess u want a visible one

Just remember to buy GOOD goggles with a 2W laser. OEM laser systems sells good goggles.

I don't think any sites sell 2W lasers, you will likely have to buy one from a forum member.

You could also make one yourself if you are up to the challenge. It's very easy if you buy a kit from Jayrob.

I will have one or two available soon, if you're willing to wait for a couple of days or so. I'm just wating on a host to come in for one, and deciding on driver configuration for another, and of course some more diodes anticipating that I may very well end up LED'ing 1 or 2 .

If you're willing to wait just a bit, I will have a couple of sweet ones built, and I will sell at least one of them, probably both, to help cover my next builds. :) Although there is one other member that has first opportunity on them.

One of them will use this host:

And the other will be in this one:

Junior member with 8 posts wants a 2W+ 445nm handheld.
Sydney, I hope you understand how dangerous this is and how careful you need to be with it.
Turn this on in the wrong place and the police will own it.
Aim it at the wrong place and you will make your (or some other guy's ) eye doctor rich.
Just curious, how old are you? And may I ask, why you require so much power?
I'm not saying your not qualified, but it would make some of us feel a little better if you told us a little about yourself.

i add 100$ to the 400$ - for a real 2W handheld device. I`m nearly 40 - so dont though i will do some ill stuff with it...
Think too, that swartzy123 dont is too youg - in this age you mostly dont have the money ;-)

I have to agree with Moebius - I would not recommend selling a laser of this power to a junior member, especially one who's only previous experience appears to be with WL.
I would wait until he proves his age and proves that he knows about proper laser safety.

What Surfy? don't understand your message
He is from Switzerland so there is an obvious language barrier.
I think he is saying:
"I paid $500 for a real 2W laser. I'm nearly 40 years old so I will not do anything dangerous with a high power laser. I also don't think that swartzy is too young to use one since kids usually don't have $400."

I don't know that there is that much more danger with a 2W laser vs say a 700mW one, or a 1.2W one that ANYONE with the money can order outside of the forum.

I mean I agree with the sentiment 100% but just don't see how it can be practical.

Kind of sucks that any idiot with some spare cash can pickup a laser:undecided:

(Not calling anyone in idiot specifically btw, just more of a general statement of frustration from seeing I WANT BURNING LAZOR type threads.)

I would tend to agree with the statements made by other members, but felt that Sydney did show that he at least knows something about lasers and laser safety (at least hopefully) when indicating that he currently had the WL laser.

I agree with Infinitus in feeling that while a 2 Watt laser is dangerous, so is a 700mW, I mean the difference in how quickly you can blind yourself or someone else between 700mW and 2,100mW may sound like a lot, but in reality if either beam hits your retina you ARE blind, and the difference in how many milliseconds it takes to blind you doesn't really mean diddly.

To me it's kind of like asking if you'd rather be at Ground Zero when a 5 megaton nuke hit or a 50 megaton imploded. Doesn't really matter much, dead is dead.

But, in the minds eye that 2,000mW does sound like a hell of a lot more than 700mW, and as such will hopefully command more respect for safety precautions.

Hey everyone,

I am 24 and I do love laser pointers with a passion. The reason why it says I am a junior member is because I just joined probably a week ago. I haven't devoted my whole life to lasers like you idiots. Like, not to be mean or anything but I do have a life and laser's are just a spare time hobby for me. The lasers in which I do own are the following:

1. Spyder Arctic 3 ( From Wicked Lasers )
2. 200mw Green Laser
3. 1000mw blue laser pointer ( From Lazerer )
4. 30mw Violet laser
5. 1000mw Spartan blue laser ( From dragon lasers )

So yeah, please do not call me inexperienced with laser pointers. Also, before you people even comment! I do have many pairs of proper safety glasses which go accordingly to my laser's wavelength.

So yeah, I am experienced with laser's and please do not tell me that I am not ready for one.

Thanks :)

Sydney Swartz

@InfinitusEquitas Couldn't agree more.

It's as if he didn't even read the last 10 posts either.

You know you could have avoided any questions, advice, or suspicions by simply providing more information in the OP right?

If you take a look, you'll see a new moron comes on the forum about once a week asking to buy a 2W laser out of the blue.

If you don't want to be lumped in with a certain demographic you may want to simply make an effort, not to appear as one of them.

In the meantime left you a little present from us idiots. Not to be mean or anything.
