Hey everyone. I'm new to the forums, though I've had a bit of experience with lasers in the past. I'm in the market for a Violet/Blue laser pointer with a little more juice than my current 5mw one and after reading up on some reviews of Wickelasers and Thinklasers customer service and ship times, I decided I'm probably better off asking someone here if they could help me out. I've had good experiences buying from forum communities before, so I figured it was worth a shot. Pretty much the only requirement is that it's 100mw or higher. I'm not too picky on other details, so let me know if you have anything of the sort that you're willing to get rid of. Thanks!

If he's looking for violet, not blue then O-like has some new 405's for $60ish but a nice 400mw for $110

Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I might go with the 400mw. How is O-like's customer service / shipping time? Better than Wicked Lasers, I assume?

Awesome, thanks everyone for your help. I think I'm gonna go with the 400mw O-like laser. It's well within the price range I was thinking for 100mw, so I'm really excited you guys could point me in the direction of this deal. Thanks again!

*facepalm

OP asks about a 100mW violet, and you suggest a 1000mW blue. :tsk:

I'd suggest a rayfoss focusable B03: www.rayfoss.com

No, not really a facepalm at all...

He said violet/blue. that generally means violet OR blue.

He then said 100mW OR HIGHER

I suggested Luke's because they are cheap and are great lasers and he stated he has had some experience with lasers before. It can't hurt to give him that option.

Thanks for coming out though

*EDIT* @OP Glad to see you found something you like :)

Yhis really is a great laser. The shipping should be about 2-3 weeks.
I have one myself and the other day I accidently dropped it on concree :( But it still workd fine :)
You should deffienetly get something like this before you move onto 1W+ blues or this won't seem as bright;)
And of course I couldn't write a post without advising eye eprotection.

Oh. I fully understand.
I saw: "I'm in the market for a Violet/Blue laser pointer with a little more juice than my current 5mw one" and I didn't think about suggesting a 1W, that's all.
I also don't feel that too many people that are new to the hobby should have 1W lasers, but that's just me.

I would definitely go with the o-like 400mW 405nm for $100, it's fully waterproof and very stable. Check the review in my signature.
Remember that it may take a few weeks to get here from China, and it comes with a battery and charger.

Wayward Wampa:

I have a "new wish" style 405nm pointer. I have absolutely no clue where it came from. It takes 2x 10440s (also incredibly weird - they're usually AAA)

Anyway, it does pretty much exactly 100mW (a few mW more if memory serves).

I'd sell it to you for $45 shipped.

Not sure if that's a good/bad deal to be honest. Just putting it out there.

Hmm. I actually did go ahead and order the O-like laser, but it might be a good idea to have something a little less powerful for carrying around. I'll shoot you a PM.

Also, thanks everyone for all your advice. I'm always intimidated when joining a new forum (people tend to have little patience with noobs), but everyone's been really welcoming and helpful.
