yesterday i read some post about 635nm diodes and cooling them.. i have those 7mw rated diodes, they go up to 20mW. they will lase at a higher wavelength by then, which kinda makes the whole idea useless.. how about cooling the diode with a TEC? with 2.5V and 80mA the diode generates less than 200mW heat. even the tiniest TEC is up to that! a tiny 10x10mm TEC could fit into the head too. with the advantage to be able to electrically insulate the diode from the host too.
will measure what size it has to be at a max later.
does anyone have such tiny TECs? or a source for them? germany here, though!
prefer to trade some of my "old" laser stuff, but paypal is ready too.
