No actually there is no driver in this thing at all. It's too small. It's direct driven off of 3 button cells.

It is an aixiz case that has been drilled into the head and pins added to the diode to extend down to the batteries. I wasn't overly concerned about blowing the diode considering with the 3 cells the max I was able to achieve was only 120mw.

Ok. I should make it clear that even though this particular one was putting out 215mw on the 10180 battery, I will not be including that battery or will I warrant it if your going to use said battery. I am more than confident that you will NEVER burn out the laser diode with the button cells. however I am not sure that is the case with the 10180. Especially straight off a charger. If you want to risk the diode (this would probably work better with an open can) you can purchase the 10180 battery here:

The battery is $4.50 shipped. Since it's coming from UK it did take a little while. but it's a great little battery.
