I think he sold it to someone else or gave it to someone else. either way, he doesn't have it to send it to me to get it fixed. Which is ok. He paid for it, he can do with it as he pleases.

well, I've figured out how to utilize the newer host. However, since it's using a different module than the Aixiz 12mm module, the cost will go up about $5-$8 more.

Ok.

Since this module is $4 more expensive than an aixiz module, I'll offer these up for $60 shipped in the Conus I'll still offer up the normal blue and grey teenie burners. Since everyone seems to be clammering for the grey and I've only got the blue in stock, I'll be placing an order for more grey units. In the meantime, I've got 5 of these white ones up for grabs right now.

I've got the next version in the works... here is a picture of the new hosts...

Kenom,
those lean -n- mean lookin' prototypes have gotten my attention even more so than the original...  :p
Any ETA on when you would be ready to sell 'em?

*EDIT* So if I understand your above post, ETA = now...? Oh wow  :D
Did you say white? Looks quite metallic from the pic, is that the case? The reason I ask is that a standard white probably won't stay white too long...  :-/

It is an anodized white.  If you want to remove it down to the bare aluminum all you need to do is submerge it in LYE.  All I need to do is purchase the modules on ebay and then assemble it (about an hour) It will take about a week to get the module so about a week ETA

Anodized is
Actually, although there's not doubt about your machining / engineering skills, your marketing skills could use some polishing. Here's an example:

"The one and only, world-famous, Ken-om Teenie Burner is *now available* in a stunning anodized pearl finish! The perfect accessory to compliment your Prada key chain. Know a man who's got it all? Well here's the perfect gift, the one of a kind, world-famous, Ken-om Teenie Burner - as seen on TV - err... YouTube!"

Well you know what I mean... no need for BS but never be shy to highlight the good stuff   ;)

Back on the ball now...
Which of the two hosts would you say has more inherit heat-sinking properties? The idea of scotch tape between module & host  is less than optimal, thermally-speaking... . What kind of duty cycle would you suggest for this puppy (regardless of which host)?

Last but certainly not least, I don't really want vice-jaw marks on either of the host types... doable, I hope  :p

p.s. You told me the original host would run me $65 w/ Int'l shipping: what's the final price for the new host please?

The original is actually better for heatsinking than the new skinnier one as it has more mass. I'm tinkering with anodizing the inside of the head to prevent the need for tape as electrical isolation. Duty cycle is no more than 1 minute.

The only difference between the two is a measly $5 so just add that to the quote I gave you .

Got my Teenie Burner yesterday, the original version in grey. It arrived packed quite securely and included GITD dustcap. It really is amazing how much light this little thing produces. I am running it on a 10180 battery, just trying not to leave it on too long ;)

I am really happy with this laser! Thanks Kenom.

I was at Ace Hardware Monday, and saw a "Browning" version of the original host. Cool looking, but $13.

They have them in maplin for £1.99.

Would it be possible to shorten the spring, add another battery, and have an 803t diode in it?
