I'm not sure about that - if it is 30% efficient, as a lower basemark, then to get 700mW, then you need less than 2.5W

Yea, i wouldn't recommend anyone try putting in 2 CR123's into their laser unless they are sure they have a 2.5W diode in it.. trying to get 700mw out of a 1.3W diode is pushing it :p

I asked gooey about it and he confirmed it. I couldn't pass this one up; a class IV laser pointer. Even if it goes beyond recommended specs the option to set it to 700mW if I wish is what's great. I'm going to ask Daguin if he'll test the output for me when I get it and I'll post results for the very curious (myself included).

I'm pretty certain that Jack from Optotronics has already stated in another thread that if done even once, it could be detrimental to the laser and would definitely invalidate the warrantee. It could be an expensive experiment. Bill

Don't do this with an RPL! Gus modded a similar green RPSS module and set it at 2.5 watts. He won't do this normally so don't ask him. If Jack says so don't do that to your RPL.

I now have this in my possession at this moment. Once I have the output confirmed I'll update. What I'll say now is I can see the dot around 1500ft in broad daylight.  :D The range is impossible to determine at night. By next week or sooner I'll have this metered and the output will be known. Awesome so far just needs a beam expander so it can be focused.
