a month or two ago, i mightve considered it but at this point, i need cash for a new computer so i dont die in school xD waiting for warranty service is a PITA.
I'd just like to chime in and say that viasho has confirmed that this laser has the 2.5 W diode. The current with two batteries is around 2.2A so the diode is not being overdriven. The driver is a bunch of those amc drivers that do 350ma each (that's what it looks like anyway. I didn't check the numbers on the ICs) so the driver is also fine. The crysals are a high quality separate ktp and vanadate set (not the bonded type like in pointers) so I think it would be pretty hard to damage them with only about 2w pump power. Now, it does heat up faster so I would use some sort of duty cycle. Also I'm NOT recommending that you use this laser with two batteries all the time. If you do it at all, do it rarely. I mean, the thing already makes 400mw how much more do you NEED?!
its a m1530 but same difference but yea, i already have a warranty repair open on it.. they sent someone to replace the entire top lid (iwth screen) but that didn't help so it points to a faulty motherboard, which needs to be depot'ed thanks for the offer anyway
Hey Gooey, haven't talked to you in a while xD thanks for your tidbit btw, if you wanna buy this back any time, my offer still stands xD
