Re: For Sale, Scratch Built 445 1.3W (lots of pics)

WOW!!! I'm nearly speechless.

I have never considered spending nearly $400.00 for a laser....until now. This would be worth every penny of that.

Absolutely fantastic! You should have no problem getting what you are asking. I wish I had a bigger budget, you would be boxing her up right now!
Great job!

:D I hear ya... I wanted to keep this, but the bills come first..

Best >1 watt 445nm laser I have seen to date. Truly a work of art. Nicely done. If it werent for the car I just bough i would buy this in a heart beat.

Well, if you sell it, you can buy it :eg:

I really like this host. Would you happen to have any similar ones maybe lacking the safety features and indicator led, but in all aluminum? If so, what kind of pricing would you want, if not then what kind of pricing on making me something like that? I am only looking for the host (and maybe the lenses/focus assembly).

At the moment they take far too long to produce.. I may offer kits eventually but for the time
being I will only be selling them completed..

I like the looks of that host. You have a winner there.

Hey Wannaburn....
Freakin' Sexy clean lines on that host...
The copper finned front end really sets it off as pure eye candy...

And it has safety features to be more in line with the way hosts
should be built...
Well.... you've impressed me.....:gj:

Is that a product of your new lathe....

Jerry

Thats the new lathe indeed.. Moving from a 7x8 to a 10x18 makes a world of difference.
The key switch I think is a must for selling anything that is RTR.. Especially class 4.

Wannaburn that is a AWESOME:drool: from scratch build man! Excellent work!

:D thanks.

Amazing work.

Thanks man.. a lot of time put into this one..

As Always WB. I admire your Work. You seem to move up every time you make a New Laser.:gj:

Appreciate the comments.. You know what they say.. Practice makes perfect. Going from a hobby
lathe to something more professional allows one to advance by leaps an bounds.

Wow!

If that's a prototype, sign me up for the production model.

One question though... why unprotected batteries?

With this particular laser, the unprotected 18650's were used when sizing it up.
I forgot to account for a longer battery, so protected cells are just too long :banghead:

It will make its new owner happy im sure.. You get what you pay for is the golden
rule, and a warranty to make sure you stay happy..

Thanks for all the comments guys... Sprained my finger while working on this
one, been out of commission for nearly a week.. Hoping to get some more done this weekend.

Only reason I don't like unprotected cells is that they are harder to get (though not that hard) and they are after all unprotected.

I'd still get this laser if I could afford it... Instead I'll start saving up for your next build;)

Im sure they are much better than anything from DX..

-----

On all future builds im going to leave some extra room.. I just
measured the Trustfire '18650' and it would appear that the battery
is 63mm in length..

A true 18650 from my understanding should be 65mm in length..
There goes my bad luck streak with DX batteries again lol.

I can just move up the + contact board a few more millimeters and all should be
fine. There is some extra space there, and am going to make the adjustment..

Re: For Sale, Scratch Built 445 1.3W (lots of pics)

I never use 18650's and am limited to 1 I have from DX..
Didnt want to leave any slack, but looks like an important detail
was overlooked :undecided:

Thats okay though.. Its not like the beam comes out the wrong end

I realy shouldn't do this but I just can't stand not to, this is a work of art.
I will buy it at your asking price if it is truly the very first one I want it !

Sorry boys but this is truley a piece of LPF history and a very fine
piece of work not to be missed !

OMG just dosn't cover it !
This is the coolest designe I have seen yet here
and well worth more for the fine craftsmanship
that went into making this.
I'm supprised it lasted 1:24 hr Wow..

Most likely to be my fave laser :eg:

If you want, I can send you a (free) pair of used but working laptop unprotected 18650s.
You deserve it any day, just for those pictures.

LOOOLLL  Thanks  And my wife thought this one
looked a bit plain :tsk:

I told her this is precisely why I build the lasers in the family :D

As for the batteries, I have unprotected from a laptop, some nice
panasonics but there is solder on the + terminals and I dont use them
for sizing because of the extra length..

Appreciate the offer, but its ok, no need.. Future builds will have a few
extra millimeters to compensate for odd sized cells.

I had just simply overlooked it by not measuring the battery I used for
mock up..
