Default SOLD OUT - 2x Host & Heatsink for only $15

No longer for sale through me.. I've decided to sell these in bulk to the "regular" shops we all know of. This will make shipping and getting these off my hands easier. So if you want one you will have to wait for the shop owners to post them.

You can purchase this kit at http://stonetek.org/shop/index.php?m...roducts_id=261

DTR's Review: http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/1w...8-a-55922.html

Here's a video of the kit.

I'm offering these up for sale.
These hosts are standard LED hosts with a reverse clicky mounted on the side of the barrel.
They are ugly, but they are cheap
They have the same basic design on the inside as my last hosts, but the internal space is quite a bit smaller.

These **WILL NOT** accept an 18650 battery.
I do not believe they hold enough room for an entire Aixiz module, Although if your using a rkcstr driver or some other form of "long" driver, it can be tucked into the spacer which sits next to the clicky.

As of now it's recommended these are used with 3xAAA, or 3x10440
If anyone could chime in and let me know if 3x10440 in parallel can power a 445nm, that would be great.

They are blue anodized with knurling on the body, tail cap and head.

The heat sink is 1.1" diameter and .57" long

This sale includes:
Host with lanyard
Custom heat sink
Holster
3xAAA battery holder

Prices:
1. Stock blue kit: $10 Shipped in USA
2. Anodizing Removed - Blue cross hatch remain: $20 Shipped in USA
3. Knurling and Anodizing removed & polished: $25 Shipped in USA
Those are the 3 different options.

Shipping is free within the USA.
International orders must add $3.50 for shipping.

The second to last picture is the $25 version, the very last picture is the $20 version. All other pictures show the $10 version.

Yeah. it's not precision quality, but it's definitely worth more than you pay for it.
I agree it's a great choice for beginners or a first build. If you screw something up with these parts, it's not much of a loss at all.

no it won't hold the entire aixiz housing.

However there is enough room for the longer drivers, like rkcstr's microdrive. You just have to position it inside the clicky switch's spacer.

I added pictures and different version to the kit for purchase.
I got the rest of my hosts in today also. All the store seem to be out of aluminum bar stock so it's going to delay me a day or two while i wait for them to get it back in stock.

The guy at fastenal told me Tues.
No idea why it takes that long....
I'll probably order some elsewhere too to see if can get it sooner.

They're some great looking hosts, for a great price. Looks like you got a wholesale caseload . I was wondering, can the switch assembly be removed relatively easily? I suddenly had an idea perhaps I'll try out with some other cheap cases or maybe on this one: I'm not sure how you polished it, but I'm assuming it was time consuming - either by lathe or sanding and then finishing and polishing - but perhaps you can sink a whole flashlight case in paint thinner or acetone and remove the paint, then just polish. I have no idea if it'll work, but if so, you could get a bunch of ***y cases for cheap and easy with that method (just use a gallon of paint thinner) and it will save others from the work and time.

Got my rnd 1 host & extra heatsink today. Nice work! Post office was kinda rough on the pkg. Nothing a couple sharpie "dots" won't cover. They have to be trained to do that!
Anxious to get my 2 rnd 2's now! You really can't beat the price for a host & nice heat sink.
Today was abt like Christmas! My pkg from Modwerx and my 2 AixiZ drivers came too. :
I won't see the wife for a week at least now.....I don't know who is happier?

the one with the cross hatch is just put under a wire brush on a bench grinder.

The fully polished one gets it's knurling removed on the lathe, and then it's sanded down to remove the anodizing.
It takes a good chunk of time to do this to them,, where as the standard i can just pop in the heat sink and be done.

As for the internals, they can all be removed in a matter of seconds. for the switch you just bend the tabs straight, push out the spacer and the switch comes right out.

That dog is looking at you like "WTF!"

Acetone won't strip anodizing but Caustic soda dissolved in water will. You can also get a matte look if you leave aluminum in that solution long enough. It's actually a important step in anodizing aluminum, it strips all of the natural oxidation off of the aluminum.

Zomg! Aluminum Candle?!
YouTube - Reaction Of Aluminium with Caustic Soda

Obviously you wouldn't use a solution that concentrated!

They look nice Mohrenberg, especially with that ugly blue stripped

well you could use rkcstr and 3x10440 or a flex and 3xaaa if they ever come back. You could probably fit 2x RCR2 as well with a rkcstr driver. The hollow spacer makes it possible to fit just about any driver as long as there is a compatible battery configuration to go with it. Sorry i'm on my cell phone.

If anyone could chime in and let me know if 3x10440 in parallel can power a 445nm, that would be great.
I found a couple of threads, 1 from DTR 3405 Host Makes A Great 445 Build! and 1 from Jayrob Tutorial: 3405 Build Tips! that show 3XAAA or 3X10440 in parallel will work for the 445nm. DTR's thread states he tried it and it worked "all day" and Jayrob's thread has a tutorial on how to do it.

The hollow spacer makes it possible to fit just about any driver as long as there is a compatible battery configuration to go with it. Sorry i'm on my cell phone.
I did a battery mod (idea from Lonewolf) for my MXDL 3405 which is a different host but uses a 3XAAA battery cartridge like this one. A piece of 3/4" PVC pipe cut to length fit nicely in the host to hold 2XRCR2s with a spacer. (I used a neodymium magnet in between the batteries)

Hope this helps!!
