SOLD: Optotronics RPL-500 Green Laser 600$

Hey guys,

I want to sell my slightly used RPL laser because I am losing interest in lasers.
Included with the laser are both tailcaps, one with a safety key and the other that limits output power, a full laser certification report as well as the case it came in.

The laser has been sent back to Jack because of some laser flair issue. He has done his best to clean it up and although it has improved, the flair can still be seen according to him.

The laser itself is in very good condition without any damages to the body.

Jack will ship the laser to your location in the States and the cost of shipping should be paid to him. You will need to contact Optotronics and arrange a method of payment. Shipping within the States through USPS priority should be around 14$+6$ for insurance.

I am also selling a Melles Griot beam expander on the B/S/T forums, so in case you want them both, I can sell them together for a lower price.

Price for the laser and all its accessories is 600$ (not including the beam expander) and should be sent to me via moneybookers.com or Western Union since Paypal is not available in my country

If your hoping to shift a $800 laser, you going to need more than a little pic of it sat in it's case.

People want power graphs, beam specs, duty cycles, full laser history & a LOT more pictures, especially of it running.

They can get all of that information from Jack at Optotronics. The laser is no longer with me but he can provide all of this information.

Umm... it isn't the buyer's problem to contact Optotronics to get that information. You should be contacting Jack, and posting the info and pics here. I highly doubt most people are going to try to go through all that extra hassle.

Good, it will most definitely help with your sale to have that info. I know I wouldn't just drop $800 on a random laser, nor for $800 would I do that extra work. Looks like an excellent laser. Optotronics is the best of the best.

I have added some picture that were on my phone but have forgot they existed. Please note that these pictures are a month old so there might be some changes to the beam pattern after the cleaning. For now, this will have to do.

I just found the full certification that we did on this RPL. It was stashed behind the foam padding in the case. I emailed photos of this to Dimitri and he will add them here.
I vouch that Dimitri is very trustworthy. I know buyers may be leary of sending money overseas by western union, but remember I have the laser here in the states. as soon as Dimitri tells me he received payment or if a buyer provides me proof of western union payment to Dimitri (copy of the full western union paperwork and receipt) and arranges payment to me at Optotronics for the shipping costs by either credit card or USPS money order by mail, I will then ship it to them. I also want to comment on the beam expander Dimitri has. It's the nicest beam expander I've even laid my hands on bar none. Nice zoom and a large beast with very nice wooden case...a real work of art.

I will NEVER send any type of payment by western union. Its paypal or nothing for me. (not planning on buying it just thought I would say that)

I understand your concern but there is nothing to worry about since the goods are not with me. If you send me 800$, you will have to send proof of that to Jack at Optotronics and he will send you the package once he receives the cost of shipping from your end. Where is the risk in that?

You disappear with the $$ , Jack doesn't send the laser = Buyer $800 out of pocket.

Not saying this is the case, but your asking wheres the risk. Remember, we've had a couple of veteran members with REP points in the 100's with 1000's of posts under their belt disappear with members money and not returned, or shafted members with questionable goods.

Or the laser gets seized , or arrives defective.

Again, I'm not saying this is going to happen, but it could, and with WU , they have NO WAY of getting the money back should something go wrong.

If it was a $50 laser, most people would take the risk, but this isn't an $50 laser, and people are going to voice concerns with WU.

I see no reason why Jack would not send it to the buyer? If you guys don't trust him then this thread is useless really.

I am only asking for the money to be sent by Western Union because I see no other way to receive the money from the buyer. If you have any ideas I would be happy to hear them.

You obviously didn't read my first post well did you? I clearly stated that Paypal is not available in my country so I cant use that.

If it would make you feel better to send all the money to Jack instead that is fine with me. I will just have to lose some cash for the transfer fees.

I was looking into moneybookers.com and it turns out i can request a payment to be made if you create and account. We can go that route if you prefer.
