SOLD

EDIT: PRICE DROP TO $125 (SHIPPING INCLUDED)

I've decided to sell my optotronics 150mw pen. Included are all the papers that came with the laser along with the case. Asking price: $125. The pen averages 158mW according to the documentation. It can light matches, burn paper, and pop balloons. The beam is very visible at night. Bought this from another member here a while back. Post or PM me if you have any questions. The laser is in perfect condition and output is stable with no mode issues. The dot is a clean TEM00. Peak output >180mW.

Will take Paypal. PM me if you require other payment options.

UPDATE: at the request of another member, I did a measurement on the divergence and it is 1.15mrad. Pictures are added below.
Beam Diameter at aperture: 1.5mm
Beam Diameter at 10ft: 5mm

Re: FS: Optotronics 150mw Pen

if you need a cheaper option for pens like this..... i bought a >200mW one of these from bayarealasers.com for $80..... of course unverified output, but for $60 less....

not saying you shouldn't get this laser, in fact you should get this one if you can afford it.... because it has paperwork at least with a verified output....

but if you're strapped for cash this is a cheap option....
Errr... I'm not sure you understand. x101xtreme is selling this laser.

-x101xtreme, have you measured the divergence on this laser?
It looks (from pic 3) like it has a large divergence, which is uncommon for opto-pointers. :undecided:

Re: FS: Optotronics 150mw Pen

I haven't seen a single review or LPM measurements for bayarealasers. I don't even know if it's IR filtered. For all you know it might just peak at 100mw.

The laser I'm selling is 158mw average with a peak in the 180's.

You get what you pay for. For the price, it is hard to find a cheaper option for verified 158mw of green. In fact, if you check any of the reputable forum sites: novalasers, o-like, optotronics, or rayfoss, I think that $140 is a fair price for a quality 158mw pen.

@Ash: The person I bought it from checked with jack at opto who told him it was in spec. Here's a link to the forum topic where I purchased the laser.

According to Jack at opto, the divergence is under 1.2mrad.
Just did a measurement at 10ft. The diameter of the dot is 5mm. With an initial diameter of 1.5mm at the aperture, this comes out to 1.15mrad.

Please don't use other peoples sales threads to advertise cheap laser companies. We all know where to buy junk.
Good luck with your sale x101xtreme.

Re: FS: Optotronics 150mw Pen

Thanks for the encouragement, Moebius. This is a great laser and can't be compared to the cheap stuff on less reputable laser sites. If you guys have any questions about my rep as a seller, PM drummerdimitri. He bought my jayrob 445nm laser and payed through western union. Though, I prefer paypal for my sales.

Re: FS: Optotronics 150mw Pen

thanks dad, you need to take a big deep breath and relax..... you take this forum way too seriously man....

HiGrade, it's not your place to tell others how seriously they should take this forum - remember, some member's livelihood (in whole or in part) comes from this forum. For myself, I have a passion for lasers that has to compete for time against my wife, kids, and 2 jobs. So naturally, when I get into a thread about a high quality laser for sale, that's all I want to read about.

So you made a mistake - we all do. Read or re-read the posting guidlines and if it happens again, just apologize and delete or edit the inappropriate post. ;)

x101xtreme, sorry for the etiquette intrusion. :yabbem:

That is a great greenie for a very reasonable price and if I hadn't just poured a bucket of money into a boat-load of laser accessories, I would seriously consider buying.
