Hey,

I bought an extra Ophir from Trevor a few months ago. I can't really justify keeping two Ophirs, so I thought I'd sell this one.

I can't find the eBay listing from the fellow who sells these, but I think they used to be $219, so I'll ask that, (plus shipping). If that's too much - if they've gone down in price - please tell me. I haven't been religiously following the BST section in a few months, so I'm just pricing it based on memory of what I paid the eBay seller for my first Ophir.

Shipping:
Tracked, within the US and Canada, is $15.
I would use ExpeditedParcel to the US, and Xpresspost to Canada.
International tracked shipping is annoyingly expensive, so you'll need to PM me for a quote.

Also, if you happen to be someone who trusts me, and is comfortable without any recourse or security in the transaction, I'd discount my asking price by 10% if you paid in Bitcoins. I'm really enjoying the few Bitcoins that I already have, and would love more.

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

I'm really considering this, but... considering I am buying a solid silver host in a day or two... can't really justify it. But if you have it for a while, I would probably take it off your hands.

What's the power range of the Ophir?

Good luck with the sale!

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

Thanks for the info.

I believe the power can be read by the output voltage?

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

Sorry for the intrusion into your sale rhd

Also seizing the opportunity, is a very good sensor, good luck with the sale

A 60W Ophir does not lend itself very well to either direct DVM readout or for data logging as the resolution is at 0.3V/1W which would require an amplifier to bring it up to a simple usable 1mW/1mV.

If you refer to the sensor linked by grainde, the resolution is 0.1V/1W, not 0.3V/1W.

Jerry:

For what it's worth - I was the first of the 4 sold (I think) - so I didn't scoop anything from anyone else ;)

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

Whoever purchases this, I can build a Kenometer USB, or a Kenometer Pro to go with this sensor for a relatively low price. Just adding value to the sensor for your sale.

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

I paid $200 for mine 0-6W standard I believe most of them will goto 35W or 60W with the proper add on cooling mine was used on ebay and didnt come with a lead. Most of the listings on ebay I saw were anywhere from 300-500$ So I think it's a great deal on a sensor.

Edit shoulda looked at that link.. decent deal. Say's they wont ship to canada though so wouldnt help us canucks..

The link on Post #14 is for an OPHIR 20C Head just like the
one being sold here.
With no additional cooling the head will read lasers to 4W-5W...
To get it to read lasers to its max rating of 20W you would need
to use some cooling of the head.
Those 20C heads will not read 35W to 60W..

Re: FS: Ophir Sensor

Yep, that looks the same!

Okay, I'll sell mine for $190 shipped.

And if Ebay is a decent place to sell these, I'll probably just pop this up there this weekend unless someone grabs it here first.

Jerry: To get 20W readings, wouldn't you also need a higher voltage dual rail power supply?
