SOLD Looking to trade/sell 220 mW 660 nm

Hi, I'm looking to trade this old style dilda for PHR 805
or LPC-826 diodes. I would like to get two diodes out of this trade
so two reds or two blurays or one of both would do. The laser has seen some use but is in good shape, just normal signs of wear, i.e. no major blemishes. The laser did 228 mW on my LaserBee A. I will also consider other trades, cash price is $35.00 shipped in the US. ;)

Re: Looking to trade/sell 220 mW 660 nm

Hi I have a few questions...

1. Could you post the dimensions(size)?
2. Is it focusable?
3. What kind of button does it have (momentary, clicky, etc.)
4. Which battery does it use?

The IR content is 0%.

I was thinking the same thing. But you could at least explain it. lol.

So to bata^^ Only 532nm (green) lasers may leak IR because they actually use an IR diode and then run it through crystals. To be exact, it starts with a 808nm diode, passes through a crystal which converts it to 1064nm, then through a frequency doubling crystal which makes it 532nm. This process is not 100% efficient, and therefore a high power IR diode emits only a fraction of its power in 532nm. However, 405nm (violet) and 635nm or 650/660nm (red) are strictly diodes and emit their wavelength of light directly, and therefore cannot and will not emit IR. Hope it helps your understanding.

I did explain it to him in the past. Normally I wouldn't have done a facepalm for someone new to lasers, and either skipped the thread, or offered a short explanation like you did, but he should know better by now :undecided:

I can't answer the first atm, but to help you out quicker with the others, 2) Yes, 3) Clicky, 4) 2x CR2 (can use 3.6V CR2's for higher output, though may shorten lifetime).

I thought there were some DPSS 660nm lasers using 1320nm IR diodes, aren't there??

Though I guess if this was DPSS, it would cost more than $35.

I'm sure there are DPSS 660nm lasers, but yeah, would cost much more than $35. Honestly, when I showed my optoelectronics professor a cheap 532nm pointer, he was surprised it was DPSS for that cheap, and not just a direct emitter of 532nm. He wouldn't believe me when I said they're as low as $5 shipped on Ebay now (though I guess he didn't keep up in that department, he does high power IR laser research).

Yeah, I guess lasers are same as any other gadgets; price drops dramatically only a few years after they are introduced :p

Thanks for the info. Did he buy this from you?
So it operates on 6V DC? Hmm.... Can anyone tell me if running it on 7.2V will have a significant impact on diode lifetime?

Re: Looking to trade/sell 220 mW 660 nm

@ bata & kumowoon1025, you've both PM'd me about the laser and I will answer your questions here to save time.
To begin with, as mentioned above, there is no IR in this laser's output, secondly I believe O-like was the original source for this
laser: New Style red laser 200mW /adjustable [OLNRL200] - $45.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
1) The laser is just under 5 inches in length and the main body tube is just over 1/2 inch in diameter.
2) As answered before, it is focusable
3) The switch on these is pretty cool, if you press it in all the way it is like a clicky so that you leave the laser on for LPM/burning, but if you don't depress the button
all the way you can use it as a momentary on/off. So really it is both.
4) The laser came with 2X 3.0 V CR2s, these will be included along with a battery charger. I would stick with these.

And most importantly it is still available. In fairness this will have to be first come first served, so whoever sends payment first takes the laser. Please post as PP sent in this thread so that other potential buyers will not send payment.

Re: Looking to trade/sell 220 mW 660 nm

I will ship the laser tomorrow if possible, it may have to be Tuesday at the latest. Either way you should have it by Friday. I will PM you the tracking information after it is shipped. Thanks!

You should put SOLD in front of your title so people don't click on the thread thinking the laser's still for sale.:)
