SOLD 900mW 445 in unique host.

I had this host on my shelf for a while, I figured it was time
to put it to some use.

Up for sale is one of my personal favorites. It's a 445nm
which hits 900mW with a glass aspheric lens and a single 16340.

The laser is nice and heavy, very solid build and feel. The heatsink
is made from a solid chunk of copper with a polished finish.

I have also added a rubber grip for adjusting the focus.
This also acts as a guard to keep oils from the skin getting on the
heatsink and tarnishing it. A metal focus knob, if it gets close
to the copper will scratch it, so I didnt bother to add one.

The switch has to be fully pressed in to activate, and is flat
so the laser can stand 'on end' without falling over.

The metal clip is also removable, but its strong and serves
its purpose well. Not something it should be without.

Comes with 2 fresh / charged / and tested protected 16340's,
a dust cap, and deluxe charger.

Body is polished stainless with a plastic grip. Total weight with
battery, 5.1oz even.

Run time on a single charge to be determined, still on first battery..
Should be approx. 30min per charge..

On time average is 1- 1 1/2mins and 3-4mins off.

Shipped within Canada 2 day express and to the USA 4-5day expedited
tracked and insured.

Warranty is for 2 years full coverage from me, parts and labor.
Warranty does not cover water damage or facepalm like scenarios :na:

I was tempted to keep this one. I had 3
of these hosts, 2 sold with aluminum heatsinks
and GGW LD's a while back, the 3rd was sitting
on my shelf waiting to be made..

As much as I like big overpowered handhelds,
I can never get away from the small detailed builds..

On the laser as a whole.. So yes, that includes
the diode.

Previously I gave 1 year, and still do for ebay..
For LPF I have extended it to 2..

If it was an overdriven setup, it would most
likely only have a 1yr...

Nice build glad you feel you can put a two year policy on your lasers but personaly
I think you are going to run into trouble with that, there are some not so nice
people out there that will take adavantage of it, good luck.
say is that a flat screw driver set screw or a allen set screw in your HS ?

Giving 2 years warrantee on the diode seems pretty daring to me, since these diodes haven't been along that long. We hardly know how they lost in long term operation at these currents.

I'd be careful with it - you can stand for the quality of the host and probably the driver, but the diodes remain a bit of an unknown factor for now. They seem pretty sturdy so far, but who knows what a 2 year semi-continous run will do to them?

Ca$i0 claims 20,000hrs on the array. It would take
approx 416 days of running a laser 12hrs per day
to make up even 5000hrs.

As long as people operate a laser to within reason,
I don't see how these cant last at lower currents.

This 2 year warranty only applies to certain lasers..
Its not something im offering on all my builds..


@Flaminyro, yes thats the set screw. I thought it
added a little charm to the heatsink..

just make the hole, look like a hole

That is one the best looking lasers I have seen. That polished copper look a long with the stainless steel is a winner.

For the 20,000 hour rating that is with a pulsed output. I don't think anyone knows precisely how that translates to a constant output rating except with the testing that others have done on the forum.

IIRC the projector under normal operation at its high
settings pulse at nearly 3x the current that the LD is
seeing in this particular laser..

I have read test data from members here on LPF as
well as PL, and performed my own...

I wasn't trying to say that it will last 20,000hrs, but rather
5,000 in a worst case scenario.. To rack up that many continuous
hours is a feat in its own right..

The warranty simply reflects the confidence I have in the LD
at lower currents and overall reliability of the build, including
an exclusive boost driver that has been employed in all of my builds.

I sold 5 units @ 1.6W and gave those also 1yr warranty. I have
heard nothing but good feedback from the owners of those lasers
and we are at more than 2 months with no issues.

The warranty simply assures the buyer that he is not getting junk..
When I see 90day warranties, personally I hesitate to buy.
